So, Kismet is still small enough to get under the door to the front room, and because she really isn't taking to dry food, we are feeding her canned in the morning and leaving a pouch of wet food in the front room at night.
This morning she came in to see if there was any left, and was standing by her bowl when I got up to leave the room. I even turned around to make sure she wasn't behind me.
Then, I walk over to the sink to put my dishes in it before going to work and Kismet sets up a great howling.
She's by the door and some how she's gotten her tail in the door!
I take the half dozen steps over to open it off her tail, but I KNOW she wasn't behind me, so either she caught that last little swing that the spring gives it, or she slipped her tail up the crack of the door while going under the door and it got caught.
The roomie picked her up and tried to comfort her, but by then she was pretty much over it, tho she didn't want me to touch the end where it had been caught.
I don't know if this is going to put her off going under the door - she hasn't done it since I got home, but I haven't been home long.
Do you pets ever somehow get themselves in situations you have no idea how they managed?

Poor baby! I hope her tail wasn't hurt too bad.
I found my kitten had pushed out all the drawers in the dresser while I was out of the room once. She was okay, (sitting on top of them and washing herself like she didn't do it
) but they were heavy drawers and I had trouble getting them back in, so I don't know how she got them out.

I know that she could get into the drawers by crawling under and behind them... so I guess she just managed to push them out that way. But there had to be an extreme amount of kitty strength in that push. lol

Yehbut yehbut it's only a matter of time, given how the little furry escape artist dashes in & out the front door when she can!

Oh yes, pets just like humans could sometimes put themselves in situations you would not know know how they managed. Like my youngest dog, I really could not imagine why it was able to bite his whole tail off and how it was able to survive. And the cat of our neighbor, I could not imagine how it could sneak into our household so fast and could escape just as fast after it has stolen some food. This cat is smart and up to now I could not imagine how he could manage to steal without being caught.

I'm sure she'll be fine, but won't try that again. Though I've known cats to do things and its like... how did they do that? Take last night for example. My three hyper cats managed to pull a trick on me. Lucky me I discovered it before my body did in a more painful sense.
We have this kity play set we picked up at wal-mart last year. We try to keep it out of the way, but somehow (and I don't know how) it made its way from the corner we keep it, to the middle of the living room almost into the kitchen. Mind you it's no small pice of cat toy either. Though it's very light weight. The cats managed to push it across the floor. I'm just glad I didn't run into it literally.

Pets are like children. They do things that we absolutely have no clue how they get themselves in such predicaments. Funny how they manage sometimes to do such things right in front of their owners. I currently do not have a pet but love to hear about yours in your discussions as it makes me hurry and get one someday after I move from here. Our landlord will not allow us to own any in the building here. *sad*

Tiger fell off the back of the chair in his sleep yesterday, does that count? And Creamery things no mealtime is complete unless he gets feet or tail stepped on at least once because he is a "Carpenters" kitty, and longs to be "close to you" I swear he is going to be the cause of me getting seriously injured and he is old enough to know better. Bob calls him a seeing eye cat because he wants to be right at our feet.

hi elicbxn oh yes one time we had midnight a female black cat that somehow got up the drapes in our dining alcove and got her nails caught in the tassels to the drapes and was howling and trying to
get untangled, then she lost her footing with her back paws so was dangling and howling. It took my husband and me to get her untangled
and we both got a few scratches as she was really in a frenzy by then. she let me pet her for awhile then climbed down, looked up at
those draperies and I swear she hissed at it. then went and laid down in the hallway. She never did try that one again. I felt so bad when we had to give her to a loving family as we had sold the house and were moving into an apartment. that sale was the most stupid thing we had ever done. And I will always regret that too. oh well water under the bridge now. lol lol

well when my youngest daughter was 4 yrs. we had a cat, siamese, that followed her every where and sometimes she'd carry her kitty on her shoulder and the cat liked that. except one day she got something out of the closet and slammed the door and the cats tail was sticking out
poor kitty got it pinched and never rode on her shoulder again, altho she still followed her around. but my girl probably didnt want her up there any more as the cat scratched her shoulder pretty bad when it happened.

I was saying good bye to my aunt's cat when a cake pan fell off the counter, my sister counted about 25 scratches and punctures on my shoulders, head and back where the cat climbed over my head and launched himself off my back.
Turned out a really big wave, probably a small tsunami hit the beach right then, washed a lot of stuff out into the ocean, and the hit was hard enough to knock the pan off the counter... we were about 2 blocks from the beach

Does this count? Two summer ago they put up brand new wire fencing at the stable I work at.It needed to be done and we were having trouble with some breaking down the fence. The next morning and the morning after I get out to the stable to find Santana out! One day he was on the hill pasture and the other day he was by the barn! That little Appy pony cross didn't break through the fence! No one could figure out how he got out! Then we told the owners and they said he shimmied under the fence! They said they saw he do it in the past! I'm like "I think we have a Houdini for on our hands!" Since then he has not gottan out again!

One morning I was woken up by a cat screaming! I came out to investigate and could tell it was coming from the basement. Another cat started down the stairs, and then turned to see if I was following him. He looked at me as if to say "you won't believe what she's done now". I followed him downstairs, and there was my oldest cat haning upside down in the rafters. Her feet were stuck in between to pipes and she just hung there screaming. I don't know how she got there, but I had to have my husband come help me get her down. I was laughing so hard I couldn't do it on my own. She was unharmed though or I would not have found it funny!
