Endure what cannot be cured

Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control.
If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully.
So believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience,
inner strength and will power, because this is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage.

Your discussion and its focus mirrors the AA mantra or Serenity Prayer: "God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can,and wisdom to know the difference."
Although I have never had the misfortune of having to overcome any sort of addiction, I have often found solace in this simple statement. Regardless of one's religious persuasion, or belief system, I believe that everyone can benefit from following its core message, which, I believe, offers essentially the same message that you do. Whether one relies on inner strength, faith, or teachings, if we as people can learn to differentiate between those things we can change and those we cannot, I think we will all lead happier, more peaceful, satisfying, and productive lives.

I think we can start by identifying those things we know we CAN'T change, and those we CAN. That makes most things in our lives fall into 2 categories. Then we can focus our energies on the "middle" category--and that's what brings real wisdom.

Good day Professor 'Bhuwan'! That is so true, because if we keep brooding about it endlessly it will only get worse and we will all loose all of the chances of being cured. Enduring these situations will be much lighter and will eventually result into positive outcomes. I myself have always done my best to take things lightly as much as I can for all the people I love to live for especially my children.

Learn to put up with daily irratants is one thing. I live in a world of stress and frustration. I won't go into detail but suffice it to say my life is not normal. I was diagnosed with severe depression with panic attacks. I have had some form of depression since i was a teen. I am weakened by this and have no self-esteem, will power or motivation. I am on here daily in a dark room rarely going outside. Quite a life, eh?

Yes, many try to help. They don't realize that a depressed person can want to do something but just can't. I am looking to get on a better medication because this one isn't doing the job. I may need electroshock therapy. lol

hello professor,
as one gets older, he/she feels of tiredness, of aches like arthritis, joint problems, persistent muscle aches.
this things could be relieved but they never go away.
so there is no other way but to endure.
have a nice day.

Hello Papa!
Yes there are some ailments that are well beyond control, but in my opinion in order to live one must accept and fight to the fullest extent. I am one of those very pain tolerant persons, too tolerant as sometimes I allow symptoms to try and go away on their own as opposed to seeking for additional help, but there does come a time that I do get weak enough where I have to do all that ends all to find out what can if anything be done.
Though at times we are not able to get the remedies possible, in order to continue living one must keep trying. That trying means continue searching for possible relief. Optimism and persistence can be a very positive advantage.

We still have much to be thankful for. We take for granted to many gifts given us by focusing on our limitations. Focusing on our abilities and making the best use of them, no matter what the "climate" of all the negatives we see in life is our road to success.
My forte', helping people achieve their goals, I used in financial customer service. Twice my position was outsourced to India. Did I focus on this? Yes. Why? I don't know. It was very counter productive. Instead I later focused on my other skills that only a US resident could utilize in the US. This produced a lucrative and happy future.
Have a great day professor!

Thanks for sharing your own experience. We do certain things, reasons we don't know, but some body from deep inside gives the inspiration.
Best of luck.

Sir namaskar
I too believe in this theory ever since I got infected with Ulcerative Colitis. There are some ailments and situations that just wont get better. So fighting them is okay but allowing them to rule you can be real bad. Also, as the chances of overcoming these are rare, it is better to use our energy in a positive way on them rather than sulking over the things. Many a times, this helps. I have practically experienced this.
My late grandfather used to say - "If you cannot win, join them and then during your spare time gather the energy and resources to turn around and fight". I believe in that theory.
How is your health sir? Hope you are doing better these days as summers are over and rains are somewhat better. Take care of your health sir.
