i am afraid that my husband will destroy the kitchen....or the entire apartment. it was weird...last night he said he wanted to cook me dinner, but something happened and we couldn't. now he is trying to make me breakfast to make up for it. i don't really know what to expect from this because he has never done this before. he keeps insisting that he knows how to cook, but i keep wondering why he acts like he doesnt even know how to microwave something then lol...i am a little confused, but i hopw whatever he makes is edible

Hi birdie! That's really sweet! At least he's trying to do something for you. Something really special. You can tell him, "Honey, I really appreciate your sweetness but I certainly hope that you won't burn the house down." Kidding aside, maybe he just wants to show that he still appreciates and loves you. Most men rarely do that so savor the moment. =)

I hope you have a fire extinguisher ready! *lol* A man who doesn't know how to cook now goes out of his way to make something for his wife. Geez birdie... that's saying something. You're lucky. (wink)

I hope you tell us how it comes out. My husband knows how to cook very well, but lacks a bit in the microwave arena. It is not what he learned on or about. Enjoy your meal. It sounds like a nice gesture.

it turned out pretty good...considering that he never cooks like ever lol....especially not for me. he claimed that he knew how to cook from when he lived alone. i could at least tell he put alot of effort into his dish so i could at least appreciate that.

That is a nice gesture on your husbands part and I am glad to see that the food was edible. Depending on what he made, being a little burnt might be okay. I would fall over if my husband was to cook a meal anymore. He used to do a lot around here but it seems as though he has forgotten how to do everything lately. Maybe he needs a refresher course in household duties. LOL!!

This is the common quality of many husbands.Well some mess the kitchen a little, some much. But I think we should give this much of freedom to them.Give him some time occasionally to cook. You can suggest him to watch some cooking recepies in the internet and try exactly the same thing. On a fine morning you will suddenly realise what a delicious meal he makes!

How long have you been married? I know my husband knows how to cook, but he always says cooking is the moms job! LOL So thats what gets him a fair share of pizza and frozen Dinners!!!! LOL. I can cook, and used to cook all the time before he met me. I was actually a pretty good cook. Always making new things and yummy too. But him along with my children, the are a picky bunch and I chose to not spend my time making something that might get snuffed at. Well its been 14 hours since your post and hopefully you still have a kitchen and were able to eat your hubby's food!!

You shall have some faith. It is very nice to have a husband who is willing to cook and you shall encourage him:) A man who can do the housework is very adorable:) Actually men are not as stupid as women think, even in the cooking aspect. I love China

Well that is certainly something that you should be happy with. For as long as the apartment is not destroyed. I find the action sweet and romantic. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time that your husband has cooked? Well, I am sure that if he continues with this passion, he will be able to know more and soon you will find him cooking great foods that you will surely look forward to eating.

I think it is sweet that he is trying. Who knows maybe he will surprise you and make you something really, really good. My husband cooks sometimes and he does a nice job most of the time. I kind of like t when he cooks, it gives me a break and he usually comes up with interesting things to make, that are different than I would make. So I hope your husband pleasantly surprises you.

That's so sweet of him. Maybe he just wanted to impress you. Or maybe, there's a good news that comes along the preparation. Maybe, he wants to tell you something if ever he will be successful in the food preparation. Or maybe, he just just wanted to reward you for being a good wife.. Isn't it cute when husbands act differently sometimes? It doesn't necessarily mean that he has done something wrong and he is making up for it.

That's so nice of him! (I hope it turns out good!) Maybe he sees how hard you work and everything you do around the apartment and he is just showing you how much he appreciates you. And, trying something new & expanding ones talents/ habits is always a plus! If he really enjoys it, maybe you can give him some recipes to try for you! good luck :)
