Okay So I don't feel like being funny on the title of this one. Today I called red baron, I didn't feel like wasting my money. One of the packages of the single deep dish pizza was open, and I knew they'd probably give me a coupon. I told them about it, it helps them, it helps me, and everyone's happy. This is the first time that I can think of, ever doing something like this. I mean, I've done surveys before, but I don't believe I've ever called a place to get a coupon.
I'm happy, I think it's for a free red baron, and I can get that one day after work. I know that it costs red baron a little bit, but I don't see that it hurts them too much.
Ever had a red baron product that was open, or any product where you called and told them? It wasn't a complaint, just a "plus give me a free coupon" lol.

Hi, SomeCowgirl. I don't think that you have anything to apologize for. I believe that if a product is opened then it is fair for a consumer to contact the company about this product being opened. I have never had a red baron product that was opened. If I did have any product that was opened at the store, I would leave it at the cash register and notify the cashier about the product being opened, so that they won't assume that I was the one that opened it. If I get home and realized that a product that I have bought is opened, then I will take this product back with my receipt to the store. Sometimes, you may have to contact the company about any errors, even when you don't want to. It keeps them aware of any new issues that may come about. This way, they will work better at making sure that the packaging is efficient with any product that they are selling to consumers.

We not I.. the title was stating what they said "we apologize" or actually they said they'd send out an apology letter.
the box wasn't opened, if it was I'd have put it in a plastic bag and put it in the cart made for that, as I bought it at the store that I work for. However, it was the packaging inside tht was opened, hence why I called the manufacturer directly.

It's a little scary, but they aren't mean, or atleast the guy who rep'd red baron wasn't. They already have procedures in place as to what to give depending on what the problem is I bet. I know some people write the company and say how great of a product they have, and will sometimes get coupons in return.

No red baron here. Tons of other kinds.
I've gotten lots of free coupons for calling in when I see something on a sales ticket saying to call for a coupon. But it's been a really long time, I don't even remember for what.

I have never had a product that was open before but I have had the wrong order going through the drive thru and in a hurry to get home so I don't check. I have called them and they have put on their books an amount so I can get it free next time. I think we need to keep them aware of how their product is presented to us.

Yes you can call, and I've done that before. I've also gone right back and told them what they did wrong. One time had to go to another county 20 minutes away to get what we wanted as that is where the food was purchased from. I went in and said "look we just came from ____ county, 20 minutes away so you'd better have it right this time, and FREE fries too" lol and they did.

Yes, I was too tired to go back so was happy with having it put on their books so we could get it next time.

Not a Red baron, but a cereal. I remember one of the cereals that we regularly buy had a promo of a free T-shirt if you get one of the specially marked boxes. We didn't notice it at the store, but when we got home we found that the box was already opened. They had a consumer hotline so I called. They apologized but they said they couldn't do anything, as it could have been from the store. I didn't want the hassle so I just didn't do anything after that.

That seems like an excuse. They should have done something about it. Sure, most likely it was opened at the store, but they need to reimburse anyway. I guess they figured that you opened it and was trying to get something free.
