Where is the quality, people?

Hello friends, Today I came back to MyLot after a few months of break and it really feels great to be back among my friends, sharing my thoughts with the world. However, I have observed that no matter how much you try to help people by suggesting them to stick to quality when starting a discussion or responding to one, there are folks who just do not want to listen. I found so many duplicated discussions today, especially from new users. I don't think they even bother to check whether the exact discussion is already going on here or not. What do you think is the reason that in spite of being told, people do not stick to quality posts here?

Hi jshekhar, It is nice to see you back after a long time and I hope you are doing great in your life. Regarding the topic, repeated topics are always coming in mylot, just because they are not informed about the topic. The earlier starter is not the friend of the second one, there is less chance to get the information for the second one. If we search in mylot sometimes it may not show it too. So we can’t blame anybody for repeated topics, sadly the repeated topic will remove by administration later. (In case of new members in mylot, they are not much familiar on searching topics in mylot, once they learn from their own experience they can do better in mylot)

Yes, there are a good amount of those kinds of discussions that really leaves very little to discuss. It seems no matter how much discussions like this one are posted, it continues. I ignore them. If you search enough, you can still find some good quality discussions. Don't give up. ok?

It takes a while to learn to use this site. All of us were new here once and most of us seem to start with the same simple questions. I remember my first postings and I was so afraid that I would do it wrong and be critized. Well guess what, it wasn't very long before I did do it wrong and they let me know, and on top of that they took away my money. But I hung in there and now totally enjoy the site, of course I still screw up every once in a while. So enjoy the new folks, give them as much encouragement as you can after all who knows what wonderful treasures there are amoung them.

sometimes i wonder, if i should like good discussions, i consider that my topics are not that bad (maybe for some it is bad) .... but the people who are here are sometimes not so confident of their English and do not understand the message we are sending. Some of them ignore our discussions ... only the senior friends entertain our discussions \ cheers

many of them think that MyLot is a paid per post, the first time I come here I still think what it is milestones and poll type, because in my own language there is no understanding about it. So, little by little I went through and finally understands the meaning of the sentence. The most important thing is to read the guidelines and study it until can understand everything in the guidelines.

Those people are only eager to earn fast without trying to put in more effort. It is hard to get those people educate, and there are many mylotters here are always tell them what can do and what cannot do all the time, but there are still people doing the same thing. So, the only thing we can do is to stop respond to their duplicated discussion, and let them feel the pain of no respond. . I hope this is not too cruel.

I have a slightly different point of view JShekar. Not all people are alike; secondly, there are many times that we do talk about insignificant things in life. THe people who post discussions are also the same. Now, I posted one discussion about whether you have an autoclock in your body.I do not think the discussion is of great quality. It did fetch responses because many people found it easy to relate to.M y feeling is that we can participate in discussions which interest us; if and when we do not find topics that are appealing we can start one after some thought. If not, we can pick old topics of users with whom we share some similar interests. Let the new users start what they want and make some small money if their friends respond to them.

Hi jshekhar! I think that with so many people there are bound to be some accidental duplicates sometimes. I think that they sometimes haven't quite figured out how to search for previous discussions too. It sure doesn't make it any easier for those that have been here a while though. I always try to post quality discussions that are original. Take care.

Hii jsekhar...nice seeing u..I also have been out of mylot for about an year. But while checking my inbox i found out your comment on my thread about best responses...n bang...im back again..!!Thanks for bringing me back to mylotting..!!! Well as for your discussion..i don't think money is the only reason. When I was a new user, I was kind of confused as well as interested to post a new discussion..see the responses..find out how people react to it..so in the heat of all this..ppl tend to post the topic that comes first to the mind. But I also think recirculating old topics is quite a good way of getting new reviews, ideas as well as putting the topic available for new users. Quality is indeed important but modifications and verification is also important !! Happy Mylotting..!!

Wat r these guidlinz u speek of? As to why there is no quality in some cases, it comes down to two things. The first is laziness. The guidelines are not a few sentences long, but rather, are nearly a full page long. People don't read the terms for other sites so why would they read the terms and related documents for myLot? Of course it bites them in the end, but they just think they will magically get away with being a rogue myLotter! Also on that note, it is extra work to search before making discussions. I myself have been guilty of starting a discussion without searching first! Finally, the second thing is a focus on money only. When one has dollar signs in their eyes, they only see discussions as money generators. They didn't read the guidelines so of course they do not understand the quality culture of MyLot. They race through discussions and responses. Then they wonder why their earnings count has not gone up. This of course is answered in the FAQ, but if one did not read the guidelines one certainly is not going to take the time to go through the FAQ.

Since I started I have tried to produce quality posts (although someone could write what I produce is not quality) still I do try. The reason is habit. I feel if I produce garbage, I will become garbage, something like eating. Those that do it only for the money and nothing else in my mind is insanity. (not pointing a finger at anyone) Who can sit at a computer for the length of time it takes . . . unless of course there are other reason(s) as well? If the goal is to achieve money which is a good one, why not have an additional goal to make the activity useful and work on something else as well. After writing as a relative new person I need to include I am still struggling a little with the term quality (what really is the best quality examples not just the faq and guidelines?) as from my perspective quality does seems relative to the current discussion and discussions vary so much. Do hope that made sense.

well people are not here to give quality or good answers or help the world they are here to make money (i am at least) so who cares what you type as long as you are getting paid for it (thats all i care about) i am not here to share my thoughts and opinions (if i shared my thoughts and opinions i would get kicked off of here for they are not all nice) if i did not need the money i would not even be a member of this site so i think that is why people do not give good quality responses it is not about quality it is about money

I find myself avoiding myLot because of all the inaccurate and repetitive posts. I would really like to see something with some substance.

I agree with you completely. The main reason I guess is the money. These people are only here to earn some quick bucks... With me, I only respond to discussions I care about and feel I may have something worthwile to add to.

It is really bad. Probably this new users came here just concerned about the money and don't really read the guidelines and the FAQ's to understand the basic about mylot. Every discussion, that I saw, when people asked about the money from mylot, everyone say you need to have quality, not quantity. But even so, many people still answer discussions with things like: "I don't know", "Good answer", or open a lot of discussion and don't comment the responses that they get. It makes me fell very dissapointed. I hope someday people understand that the quality is the most important thing here and we could have better posts. Happy mylotting.
