What thrifty, crafty type of items are you making for holiday gifting?

Photography is my most recent hobby, and I've decided to begin decorating my house with pictures I have taken. Then when I was dwelling on the issue of concern about finances and Holiday Gifts, I decided "Bingo! That's the answer! I'll choose a specific theme for a photo for each person that I want to gift to. My friend Ginny loves African animals, so I'll print and frame the tiger photo I took at the Zoo. My mother loves flowers so I'll give her the photo that I titled "Three Sisters" which is of three roses next to each other - each of a different color." I won't belabor you with all of my Christmas list. Also I'll find enough frames at yard sales and thrift stores - they are a dime a dozen there practically. What other crafty, thrifty ideas do you have for Holiday giving?

I was thinking of giving photos for christmas, too. I'll print copies of my nieces' pictures, put them in an album and give one to my mom (their grandma) and another to my sister-in-law (their mom). I wish I could also come up with gifts for my brothers and father that I could do. But, my guess is that I'll just be buying them presents.

I have not thought that far ahead yet. I plan to do some home made foods. Hubby has a barbecue sauce he makes. I have been saving up Amazon gift cards to shop on Amazon with this year, as well.

That is an excellent idea. I remember my daughter using photos as gifts for Christmas presents years ago. Sometimes we make our own cards. I am afraid that this year I will not have time to make presnts or cards. I work full time. Also in the week immediately before Christmas we are going away to seem daughters new horse. so it will be store bought gifts from us! At times, I had though tof giving food items for presents, home made preserves, etc, but it all takes times. Good on you though, for thinking of the photo idea

Well, I'm planning on doing a couple of gifts in a jar for people. Stuff like "snowman soup" which is really homemade hot chocolate mix. The layered cookie, cake and soup mixes, as well. I'm working on a few small craft projects with my niece for her to give away as well. Little pinecones decorated to be Christmas trees for the adults. Little fuzzy pets for the kids. A few people will probably also receive a or tin of homemade cookies. I have one friend who doesn't celebrate Christmas, because of her religion, but she always gives to others. So I'd like to make her something special. Cookies, hot chocolate mix and a few loaves of my zucchini bread, I think. But I love to give gifts that I make and bake.
