I got a call earlier tonight, and as usual I screened it. Caller: Hi is (insert my name) there please? Me: Who may I ask is calling? Caller: I'm calling on behalf of James Gordon, NPD Candidate for Guelph Me: This is (me) speaking, and he's the one I'm voting for. What can I do for you? Turns out they need volunteers for his office, for the election. They wanted someone to make calls, but I told her I don't do cold calls. God knows if Dalton McGuinty's office had called me, I'd have torn the caller a new one. I know that political cold calls can be a powder keg waiting to blow. Foot campaigns? Nah, can't walk that car. Then she asked if Hubby and I could come to the office and stuff envelopes, put together fliers, etc. YEAH, GREAT!!! Not only that, but they are going to come here and pick us up, since we do not have transportation!! How great is that? We can do all that office stuff, since it's what we do anyway. I'm in the process of getting two businesses going, and Hubby's going to help me expand one into the USA, so a little office experience isn't going to hurt anyone. LOL I'm going to vote in the advanced poll, so I'll be 100% available on election day. Hubby can't vote in a Canadian election because he's American, but between you and me, we're politically aligned anyway, so were he to vote, we'd be voting for the same people. Same thing in American elections (Go Ron Paul!!!) I can't vote for him, but hubby can. It really is great to be with someone who agrees politically. This is going to be awesome!!!
