Time passes really fast. Just a week ago, i had attended my aunt's wedding anniversary. It is very touching story and i am really very happy for them. It is really wonderful to be able to attend such a special celebration like this once in a while. Although all their children had grown-up and working, they never wish to celebrate their 40 years wedding anniversary the grand way. They always opt for the simple way of celebration. Since their children was the organizers, so they organized some nice and special menu for that night. Even include some competitions for couples and children. Sounds simple but they welcome their neighbors to attend as well. Have you attend any special function like this recently?

my roommate's folks had a bit celebration for 50 a couple of years ago, and then last year it was her 50th birthday so this year it was my brother's 60th birthday, that was a couple of weekends ago. I guess my sister turns 55 next year and then its my turn to turn 60... at least I can share that special day with The Doctor! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_serials#First_Doctor

Very interesting sharing, Elic. Wow, it is great to be able to celebrate all those wonderful days together. When we had entered the age of 50th, it is like a great achievement in life. Hope i have the chance to celebrate it as well, in the future. So, you are a great fan of The Doctor. I haven't seen any of them yet...

Yeah, I'm a big fan of The Doctor - doesn't hurt that it is the best thing I ever discovered about my 10th birthday...

Yes, it was my aunty and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. They actually invited only their cousins, but since my parents have passed away, so we (my sisters and I) had the privilege to attend the function. It was a nice occasion and we had a great time there cause we got to meet some of our distant aunties and uncles and even grand-aunties and grand-uncles whom we have not seen for a very long time. To me, anytime when there's a family gathering, it is considered wonderful moments to be cherished.

Yes, you are lucky to have the chance to attend your aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. Family reunion is great because we have the chance to meet our far away relatives whom we seldom able to meet during normal days. I am always looking to join another family reunion, so able to meet my favorite aunt and uncle...

Yes, Chinese New Year is always a special occasion for each family. Wow, it is nice to hear your grand-aunt is aged over 80 years old. My granny is also nearly 80 years old now...

Yes, I am also always looking forward to family reunions, since we only visit my aunts and uncles during Chinese New Year. But I will always try to pay visits to my grand-aunt whenever I get the chance cause she's the only "grand" left and she's already 80 over years old.

We have made a 30th anniversary celebration for my aunt and uncle who took care of us whenever our parents went to work when we were kids. This was their 30th anniversary instead of their 25th because things happened that year. My grandpa had lost his legs and needed the money for him and one of my cousins who was going to participate in the anniversary had to die from too much drinking in that month (meaning we knew he was gonna die and it happened exactly the year and month my aunt and uncle completed their 25th). The only bad thing about the anniversary I think happened was me. The plan was already set on who was going to have which job and I didn't have any job (just like of the other members), so it was nothing to feel bad about and I made them get a job for me to do. I screw it up because I didn't think about everything going to plan. Overall, it was great and hope there is another one soon.

Yea but they said they didn't know about it that's why they didn't included me. It was another family member who planned it so I was like oh well its the past.

So, that means they must have missed you out from the duty list. Never mind, i am sure in future, they will remember to include you in this time into their duty list.

Don't feel bad and sad about it, if you don't have a share to do any of the planning. You should be happy to be able to attend that special anniversary celebration of your aunt and uncle. I am sure they will understand it.

THe only time I have gone out besides my grandchildren´s birthdays since I started my chemo was to a wedding anniversary. I excused myself of the Mass as the church was too cold, but I attended the dinner. It was very very special as many of the couple´s friends either sang or played an instrument for them. It made a big difference although they weren´t professional

I do attend to all family celebrations just as before, unless I know someone with a flu or something like that will come. Two days ago I went to my grandson´s Diego 11th bithday. Two of my drandchildren did not kiss me or got near me as they had a cold. But I had fun anyway.

Well nothing big recently although yesterday, a good friend of mine came into town. She comes in every year for my birthday, and opted to do so ten days early. She took me to a very nice dinner and as always it was an Italian restaurant. She knows I always enjoy Italian Food. So we had dinner together and then, we went to the opening of my boyfriends show, where so many of my past acquaintances I have not seen in so long were there. They had a small reception after but the treats and drinks were out of this world and the people were so wonderful. I was teary eyed seeing so many from the past. Made for a very memorable day and one I will never forget. I have not been to a family gathering in a long time, but know how much fun they can be and so glad you all had a very nice memorable time.

Another very touching story. Hardworking, you are really lucky to have a good friend like her who specially come and celebrate your birthday with you. I think you must be feeling very blessed to have such a good friend. Hope you really enjoyed this wonderful moment with your friends and close ones as well. How i wish i could be at there as well, to witness your touching story...

Don't feel sad about it, Hardworking. Indeed, you can always share your sadness and happiness in here, although all of us haven't got the chance to meet each other. If only i have got the fund and time, i am sure to give you and others a visit in the future.

It was so needed myfb as I have felt so neglected by the many so called offline friends. This one particular one has been there electronically through my very difficult past 20 months. Although I must admit that during these past 20 months all of you here on myLot has been there where this I find is irreplaceable.

Hi myfb! That's really nice. I am sure that no matter how simple the event was, your family has made a very special memory out of it. I have not been into any occasion like that recently. But I did go to a birthday celebration last weekend and it was really a lot of fun. It was my co-worker's birthday and I even went to Manila just to attend it. ^^ She's a very good friend and we've been friends for a few years now. I organized the attendees and she took care of the food. The celebration was at their house. We had a lot of food, a few bottles of drinks and we sang in the karaoke. Her children was also there celebrating with us especially her youngest, six year old little guy who loved taking our pictures. ^^ We went home at midnight.

No, I haven't attended any special functions lately. About the closest one was for Christmas when we shared my great grandson's first Christmas with him and his mother at their apartment. It was very nice. It was a grand time and well enjoyed by my daughter and I.

The most recent special function that I've attended with my family was my Dad's youngest sister, my Aunt Ann's fiftieth birthday party back in June. It was great to be able to go up there and spend the day with my extended family because I don't have the opportunity to spend time with them nearly as often as I would like to. However, I do have to admit that I'm glad that we are all still so close even though my father passed away 16 years ago.

I do experienced like this before but the case was a birthday party. It really feels so good to be with the celebration. Much more if you are included in the preparation. Anyhow, I do admire the 40 years wedding anniversary that your aunt and her husband had. I just can't help to be amaze with it. Much more to their children who still support their parents even if they have their own lives and family already.

Yes, it is wonderful to be able to include in the celebration of their wedding anniversary. In fact, this is my first time to attend such celebration. It is just like seeing the couple re-marry again...

the time is going on very fast. iam missing ny family alot. but their memories are still with me and make me to live. when i am meeting , i will be very happy. we will know new matters about our relatives and their caring on me is meaningless. i like to share everything with them. but, at the ebd of the day , they make me to cry. we will carry their memories upto end of our life, eventhough they are absent. memories are ever lasting
