Apparently there are about 3,000,000 jobs heading back to the US. ABC reports that the cost of labor in China has risen as well as the shipping costs going up, That is resulting in more factories and manufacturing coming back to the US very soon, with many plans already in effect. I was overjoyed to hear that and felt that it might be the biggest thing yet to help our economy turn around - what are your feelings on that?

That is what was on our news tonight and they cited several places where factories were already in construction. I don't know where you are, and I really think that it doesn't matter - although you must realize that it will take a little time, as these jobs return to our country, the economy will start to recover. Look at the news and do searches on this, as it may give you some clues as to where to look for good positions!

Glad to hear that because anything that affects America affects the rest of the world, as For China, I think their economy is quite strong now so perhaps it would also be easy for them to cope with this. This is really good news if it is true and could be implemented effectively, hope it's not just because of a coming election"God bless America"

Thank you for the wishes of good blessings from our Lord. Praise God! I hope it is true as well, although the news backed it up with information on more than several factories that are in construction today. They didn't give the whole 3,000,000 employment statistics, but enough to make me feel convinced that they weren't giving a line of... well, you know. As toward the "election" it's certainly going to be a tough call. My mind is made up about what I DON'T WANT anymore, but they haven't given me anything yet that I would want. Stay tuned.... eh?

Hi Kizzy, I think that is a bit too optimistic, unless they are referring to a time frame of 50 years. While the cost of labor has increased in China, there are still many Asian countries with low labor cost. Even if those companies move their plants out of China, there is no guarantee that jobs will return to US.

Cambodia and Vietnam for example. Both of these countries have seen an increase in output of clothing manufacturing.

This is wonderful news! It's about time! We need the jobs here. Too many are unemployed!! Woo hoo!

Yes, and they named off just a few major companies that are building factories in different states, so that was really exciting. It's doubtful though that California will see much of it as California isn't as business-friendly as other states.

I do hope people in this country will actually be able to get those jobs. That's a good thing for this economy.

They will get those jobs, ReviewMe, because the jobs are here. And further, as we get towards that 3,000,000 employment mark, the rest of the economy will start to recover, as the incomes of the people are better, it is our beginning of recover from what they called the recession that was really our second Depression.

I hope it is true! People need jobs in the US and your country should recover now. I wish there are more jobs available too in the Philippines. So that people will stop going to other countries to apply as a servant or maids. It is so sad to see Filipinos working as a maid or helper in other countries. I wish we have more factories and business opportunities for Filipinos.

I will have to look that up, Romscabs, as my sister is married to a Filipino. They are naturalized American Citizens though. My sister's husband's family came here from the Philippines years ago and her father and mother in law were actually quite affluent here, owning a gasoline station and other businesses and a marvelous home. (The in-law parents have now since deceased). My sister's husband is an insurance adjuster, my sister's sister-in-law is a prominent doctor in our city. I have not seen Filipinos working in menial jobs - I could go on about the Filipino professionals that are living quite well here in Fresno, California. And besides that, thank you for wishing well for the USA. I hope that it helps. Maybe the Philippines is a place that I can look at as a travel destination should I recover from this financial depression that they have called a recession.

Thank you for considering Philippines as one of your place to travel when you finally get enough $ to travel. I think most Filipinos who are in the US are either Nurses or married to US men.

That is probably the best news our nation has had in a few years! I hope the trend continues... not that I have anything against Chinese workers, but we need the jobs badly right now.

Peavey, when I saw that on TV tonight while at the dinner table my heart sang with joy. This news won't give me a better job, but it will increase our economy that will increase my income and many other peoples' just by attrition. It's the best thing I've heard in almost three years. Thanks God! You're correct, nothing against the Chinese workers, and I believe they will be fine. Let's go, USA!

As much as this story is great news for the US I have some doubts about the figures and would love to see how they arrived at that. If the US decided to pull so many jobs from China the effect on our economy could also be really bad(sure our employment level will rise) but China could start requesting all the money we owe them in return so they can support their own people. I also feel this is a political ploy to try and win the voters but I really do hope things start returning, one company at a time to open their call centers back in the US, people to start producing steel in the US etc. With the unemployment levels we are reaching we need to show we are not only a service nation but also manufacturing and that quality will return back to work.

You are right, And do you know I will sleep better tonight than I have slept in at least two years. It will still be a hard road ahead as we recover, but it's just a beginning, and even a new mind-set for us all! Let's go USA! Thank God!
