I have been having really bad sinus headaches lately and I did not want to have to take any medication for it. I hear Dr. Oz talking about Netti pots all the time so I invested in one yesterday it came with packets of saline to mix in to he water. You fill it up with warm water add a saline packet shake it up a bit and then tilt your head and pour it in to each nostril. It helped my head a little bit last night but today my head is nice and clear and there is no head ache. Have you ever tried a Netti Pot? Did it work for you?

Actually when I first met my boyfriend he would tell me that the best thing for my constant nasal congestion's was to use warm water and salt and do the same as you describe with the netty pot.
Several months ago I also responded to another similar discussion where the discussion starter was kind to give me a link on Facebook where they were giving out free Netty pots. So I sent for one and it really did do wonders as I used it and found it more effective then the usual solution I was doing.
So yes it did help me and although they are a bit expensive by me. I find that some nasal prescriptions can be addicting.
Then GG gave me a recipe for home made ones by the gallon that I now do use. It has been very effective and helpful as the congestion gets relieved.

I know walmart and walgreens carries them. I did go to see if the link was still available for a free one but sadly the promotion ran out. I will keep an eye out as I get an occasional email then if I see they are running it again I will be sure to share it right away.

No, I have never used one of those. I didn't even know what they were until I saw one in my bathroom. I asked my wife what it was and she said it was a Netti Pot and told me it was for her sinuses. Then she explained how she used it and it kind of made me sick just thinking about it. I don't know if I could do that to myself. My wife swears by it though and says it makes her feel much better. I will just take her word for it.

One of my clients that I used to take care of had almost constant sinus infections. Her doctor gave her a constant pressure nasal rinse bottle. . . it works like a Neti Pot, but I believe it is easier to use. Whenever she had symptoms start she used it morning and evening, two ounces in each nostril, it really worked. I made the saline solution up by the gallon and it was really cheap to use. It is soooooooo much healthier than always taking antibiotics and it really works and keeps down allergy and cold symptoms and helps you breathe.

I have sinus from time to time. I have never heard of Netti Pots. It does sound very similar to the old fashioned method some of us use, of filling a bowl of warm to hot water, putting a heap of salt in it, and placing ones head over it, with a towel draped.
I usually take panadol for sinus. It is very bad I will take specific sinus medication. Many years ago, my simus was o bad, that I had allergy testing. They found it was mould. I had a series of preventitive injections, which really worked.
Now they have worn off somewhat, after 10 years.

Yes, I have one, and I find it's the best thing for my sinus headaches, and at the beginning of getting a cold, etc. A few years ago you couldn't have convinced me to even try on of those. Then one day I had a sinus headache for a few days and no way seemed to ease it. So, I tried one of those and did it twice that day, once in the morning, and once at night. After the very first time I noticed a huge difference, and by the second use that day, I was breathing a whole lot easier and the headache was almost totally gone. That really impressed me as to how much that helped! Now, I'm sold on the idea. The first time I ever heard of it was back in the 1970's, when a friend suggested one. All I could think at the time was ewww! No thanks! Now that I've tried it, and have had such success with it and the sinus headaches, I use it when I first feel a cold coming on. I have seasonal pollen allergies, so I find I use it a lot in the spring and fall, and it has made a positive difference!
