Santa Claus is coming
Christmas is round the corner. In fact exactly two months left for Christmas and for Santa Claus to visit us. I just cannot decide on my list and what I should be asking Santa Claus for this year. Have just too many things that I just need just now. Just wish there was a Chimney in my house where I could put up a very very big stocking get it filled on Christmas eve.

Iknow it depends on us if we make everyday a Christmas day. I believe deeply that Christmas is not a day to ask for presents, but a day to give love. On this day we remember the birth of a child who wanted peace on earth. Presents are not important; love is all. Trading love for things is a poor barter.

As a kid when we did not actually know the meaning of Christmas that was the time we looked forward to gifts. Though trading love for things is a poor barter I make it a point to go to an orphanage during Christmas week and give the children some gifts depending on what I can afford that year. It may not be much but just seeing the happiness in the kids faces makes me happy and that is the best gift I get for Christmas.

Hi mayka123, that sounds nice. I don't have that much to do getting ready for Santaclaus, I live alone, I do have family, but I still don't do that much. I love to see the whole community, family, friends, businesses getting ready. I love to go shopping and see the Christmas items that are on display. I really love the whole Christmas season, I just don't do that much preparation.

We do a secret Santa, for all of the adults. Everyone gets ONE gift that we pick out of a hat at Thanksgiving. If someone is missing, we choose for them.
I can't see spending tons. If we need something, we buy it when we need it, rather than getting into debt for a holiday.
Also, my best friend and I adopt a family from Salvation Army for Christmas. I would rather spend the money on someone who has nothing.
I do buy for my daughter, husband and granddaughter, and small gifts for my two closest friends. That's it.
I never ask for gifts. I ask for experiences. Take me and send me somewhere, a show, a restaurant, etc. I tell them to give me a memory instead of a thing.

I too dont ask anyone for gifts except here on mylot. That too virtual gifts if that is possible. lol. At times when I am feeling rich I go to an orphanage and give the kids some eats. I avoid this at Christmas time but go in the month of January because during Christmas there are many who give the kids eats there and then they are forgotten.
