Chatting While Working

Did you like chatting while you are working? If you like it? What media you use it? Id it cell phone, Black Berry, I PAD, PC or Laptop. Also tell us about the Messenger that you use while chatting at the office.
If not, what make you not di it? Is it because the office rules that forbid it? Or you simply to busy to chat while working?
As for me, i often chatting while working. Off course i do it when i am not busy, and i am using my black berry for chatting. But instead of using black berry messenger, i using yahoo messenger for black berry. Because most of my friend using Yahoo Messenger. I also you black berry messenger for chatting, but it mostly work related chat.

Hahah... I like chatting when working, eating, sleeping, bathing every time so all mylotter tell me talkative women ahha...just joking. But love talking while working.

LOL, chatting while working it's possible. I can do chat while eating. Chatting while bathing, although strange, but still possible. But how you chat while sleeping??? LOL. Anyway, i know it just a jokes, and it is very funny. Nice to read it. Thanks for the jokes friend. Happy mylotting.

For me I dont do chatting while working because it disrupt your work and it just consume more time than doing your job,unless of course if it requires you to chat with somebody or its work-related. If i have time lets say its break time, i open my facebook account to chat with my friends and classmates and i also use may ym.

Well good for you. If you think chatting will disrupt your work or you think it just consume more time than doing your job, then not chatting is the right thing to do. And yes, break time usually a good time for chat. As for me, i prefer to talk with my coworker at the break time.

Chatting a Facebook a lot of my colleagues do that but i just go to recreation room and spend my time on carom broad or table tennis
as i hate to constantly sit on Computer at office but
at home i am glued to my PC

LOL, Good for you sajeevking. As for me, i am not a sport person, so it is not me if i spent my time doing sport. In my free time in office i usually play facebook, chatting and browsing. In my break time, i usally playing Dota with my friend in the office. Thanks for your respond my friend.

Unfortunately in our office everything is restricted
all the site are blocked even cell phones are not allowed on the floor
the way we chat there is via office email id and send lots of email to each other but yeah we can only chat with our colleagues

LOL, yes it is very restricted. I actually wonder, what is you job. Is that require constant concentration that even cell phones not allowed there. I understand if the job require that. but if it is not, it might piss the lot of you. Since the stress could build up in that kind of job environment. Thanks for sharing this with me my friend.

yeah.i like chatting with others very much. i don't work now but take a baby at home. even so i also like chatting when i have a little free time .in china ,we usually chat by qq,which is a good software for chatting. you can chat with strangers of your friends by qq,just like msn. people who are on duty maybe some free time,at this time they may chat .many companies forbid it,but you can chat on the sly as long as you are not found. have a good day.

Oh i see, that is why this is the first time i heard about this. This it is use a Chinese language and writing? Or it is use English? If i want to try it, where could i found and download it. And can you tell me how i register at the chat software, especially if the main language is china.

qq is a software ,it is popular in china,its function likes msn.most of chinese people use it. qq group maybe like chat room. yeah,you can also use it by phone,it is competely free for chatting. even so,foreigners seldom hear of it.therefore it is common you first hear it.

Hi lordcaocao2025!
I work in a call center and chatting is forbidden :( Even if it is not, we cannot chat anyway as we are always talking to customers. We are literally chatting. Lol.
When I was with my previous company, I used to chat while I was on duty too. I chat with my friends that are from other companies. I use Yahoo Messenger back then.
It's a bit distraction though because instead of focusing on my actual work, I look at my pc screen to see new messages..

Well yes, it will be hard for call center to chat. Since it will be obvious for the customer when the call center was not focus listening to the customer. Also it will hard to enjoy the chat anyway. Well at this time, i still prefer chat than discussion in a forum. Most of the time, i don't have to think much while i am chatting with some one. But in discussion, i require to think a lot. Since i usually do them in my work time or in my rest time, so i prefer to do it while relaxing and i try not to think too much to rest my mind.

I only get to chat when my facebook is open. I use skype when my clients are giving me specific details about certain topics to write. I don't open yahoo anymore.. I like answering to discussions better than chatting. I think this is more worthwhile, don't you think so ;)

Oh, hearing that i think you are using a low end PC. I remember my old PC. If i open Yahoo Messenger, it usually make my PC become lag. After i change my PC to a new one, with the current hardware, it work nicely even with facebook and yahoo messenger at the same time. Thanks for sharing this my friend.

Yes, if you are chatting while working, the least you can do is to make sure the work done. Because for me, i think it is okay to chat as long as i have finished my job. That is the most important thing. Because what important in my job, is finishing it. Well, that what i think anyway.

When i was working i could not use my cell phone,during work period.I have to do so in my lunch time.
and is am in the office only company work,must be done on the computers their. only worker and customers w can talk during work hours.
i would have to chat with friends online when am at home, now am home not working so i can chat anytime i want now.

Well, what do you do anyway? Since you cannot using cell phone while working, i think it is a job that takes much of your time, a very busy job, a front liner maybe? If that what you do, then it is very likely you don't have time to chat. Thanks for replying this discussion my friend.

I can't concentrate when I am chatting at the same time as I'm working, but unfortunately I can't seem to stop myself from doing so either. I write articles for a living and need around half an hour for each one to be able to write it. It sometimes gets to the point where I only manage to write a couple of articles each day when my family are at home because I get side tracked talking to them and lose track of time. I am the only one up at the moment and I have already managed to write three articles today so I do think that I am making the most of my Sunday at this moment in time.

Well it must be hard for you if you work while chatting since you are writing articles and mostly to write, you need high concentration. But i think, when you are stuck, don't know what to write, a little chat with friend will fresh your brain and might give you a new inspiration. Some time it happened to me. While i was stuck at something, a little rest and fun might clear the problem.

I am also chatting while working and i also use blackberry and log in to facebook. Because most of my friends are using fb. I only do this also when i am free to work. And also at home when i write blogs and well i do multitask writing and chatting and everything that i can do. But chatting is always.

Well good for you. I also use facebook for blackberry. I do that because most of my friend also using facebook. I also write a blog, but currently i stop writing. it seem i don't have more time for writing since i actually feel very tired when i got home, and got no time and energy for writing articles.

For me no it is bad because it make you sin to Jehovah God and to your boss your not be true to what you said that you are be honest to your work it includes the time you spent to work with your boss.

Hello Lordcaocao,
In my office we are not allowed to chat while working.They have actually forbidden sites like face book,Yahoo messanger where we can chat.And i beleive its so that we may concentrate on our work and don't pass time in working hours.
Its good for you that you can chat in your office as that way you can enjoy yourself while working as i also have felt that way our work efficiency increases.

Well actually my office also block yahoo messenger ( we cannot login although we already install it and enter the right combination of user name and password ). I chat using my black berry. But it doesn't matter if people here don't have a cell phone that can chat, because the office not blocking chat site like imo dot im and meebo dot com.

Well, we use messengers, emails and IP chats and the likes to communicate at work. They make life easier to work with especially when the departments, offices and plant lines are far away from each other. Of course, sometimes it can't be helped to use such medium of communication to chat along with some non-work related stuff. In my previous job, we are not allowed to use cellular phones in the vicinity of our office and plant so I am not used to using phones while working.

Oh i see. Well some company really make some rules that forbidden mobile phones and chat software. Well as long as you are comfortable with that, i think it is okay. Chat is fun and all, but it should not disturb or hinder your job. Thanks for responding this discussion my friend.

I usually only chatting by short message only since almost all my friends didnt activate their yahoo messenger. But i only do it sometimes since i know it is not goo thing to do while working and i am a type of person who easily distracted when there are some disturbance when working. I'm affraid i'll doing something wrong in my job if i chatting too much.

Oh good for you. It is good focusing on work, and since you friend not online in yahoo messenger so it is more reason for you to not chat. If you afraid that you will make a wrong thing because of chatting then you make a very good decision to not chatting while working. Thanks for responding to this discussion.

Our company has a no chatting or even texting while in the office policy. What some of the workers do is log into Facebook and chat from there(Facebook is allowed for research purposes). I use an app called whatsapp to chat with friends around the world, since I am a manager I am allowed cellphone use.

Oh good for you. Well chat with facebook is fun too. And i also using whats app. The downside off whatsapp is, you actually need to know your friend number. So it actually only work for friend and co worker. Not all my chat friend have my number because i want to protect my private information.

I used to chat during my work in my mobile phone through messaging option. But it depends upon the nature of work on that particular day. If i dont have more work to do, then i would prefer chatting. But if my work is more hectic, then i cant chat.

Yes, i too chat like this. If there is a lot of work to do, i rarely chat. Since i chat using black berry, no one can't tell whom i chat with. So no body complain about this. Because chatting with people at the branch office using black berry messenger also part of my way of doing my job. Anyway, thanks for responding this discussion.

Yup I do chat while working.I do use yahoo messenger.It is always work related,instead of calling them that sometimes cost to much we just chat.I also use it to catch up with some friends.One thing more,I use to it to ask something from other department instead of going there hehe.Laziness for me hehehe.

Well it is good for you. I also often chat for work related thing. When i call another person phone ext in other department and no one pick it up, i usually give a message to them via chat ( mostly black berry messenger ). And those who don't have black berry ( or i don't have their pin ), i usually give the message using E-Mail. Thanks for replying.
