busy work week

I was on call today at 11, which means I have to call in. However, yesterday they told me to just be in at 3 today. I didn't have my phone near me for that reason. Well I went to go check it not too long ago and got a call two hours ago. I called them back, I was a bit worried because this is a "don't mess with us" kind of week. Well I told them that I was told to come in at 3 by ***** (I think it was our new manager) and he said okay it's not my fault and not to worry about it, by the time I get here I might as well just come in at 3, and I said okay. So I said "it's not going to look bad on me, right?" and he said "right, if you were told not to call in and just come in you're fine."
Well I feel better, but I still worry about it. I didn't have my phone near me because I don't feel like carrying it all the time. I'm already sick this week, and having to work sick, I wouldn't have minded come in earlier, and that's why I called.
I'm sure I'm fine, but I wish the right hand knew what the left hand was doing. Work is usually pretty good about knowing, but I guess it's just a busy week.
Anything like this happen to you and worry you?

I would worry about something like that myself, but you are correct, it often seems like no one tells anyone what is really going on, and the people under them are the ones that miss out on hours or that come close to getting into trouble.

Well I am fine, wasn't reprimanded or anything. Honestly the only ones I would worry about being reprimanded by is my CSM or the store managers.

Almost the same thing happened to me when I was working at a retail store. There were a few managers in the store, each in-charge of their own departments. As I was stocking late at night, I reported to all the managers. Anyway, I was once asked to come in a particular day, 10pm at night by one manager. Unfortunately, the other managers didn't know about it, and there was nobody to open the store for me.
Thank goodness there was a camera by the door! It proved that I was there, and I was still able to collect pay as it wasn't my fault that their scheduling was all screwed up.

I would journal this information so you don't forget how it all went down incase you need it later on down the road. Hopefully nothing will come of it. I have had afew things happen down through the years. I have written down everything so I remember them well incase of something coming up later.
