Dear Uterus - take that!

Well, I promised to keep you all updated, so here it is, hopefully the final chapter in the "Dear Uterus" series of discussions. So I went in for the ablation on Tuesday. Things seem fine so far. Only problem I had was that the pain medication made me queasy, so I stopped taking it. No pain on days 2 or 3, really, just tired. Tomorrow I go back to work, and hopefully this will be the end of it. If not, my final discussion on the topic will be "Dear Uterus - Into the Dustbin with you". lol

and I keep asking you daily how you are feeling. It's good to see you've had a fast recovery. I would have hated seeing you stuck at home in bed for like a week and in pain.

That's too bad because I'm going to really start using it more. I cut out the drinking because of the cool weather and my brain wants to work.

Ugh! I hope that the ablation was a sucess. I don't like them nessing with me. Glad all that stuff is done for me. Hopefully you can think up some new topic cause this will be a thing of the past. Wishful thinking and all. Very strong pain medication makes me queasy too.

Good for you, I do not suffer from Uterus problems as of yet. I do however have ovarian issues that I am always dealing with. Doctor put me on a special diet which has worked just great. Problem is if I stray from it for even a bit the pain returns I have cysts on my right ovary which sound like a very small thing. Let me tell ya the pain is not small thing though I would be doubled over in such pain for hours at a time with pain pills and hot water bottle and all. Nothing ever totally stopped this from returning, except this diet which I am told is very similar to the South beach diet. Still, if I over stress or do something too labor demanding back too pain pills and hot water bottle once more. I have been told to get this ovary removed but it is still healthy just has cysts on it is all. I think I can have them removed that is something I am still considering too. I live in the country though and there are always chores to do here, wood for the stove to pack in gardening to do. Long hours of sitting in the winters at times. Many of these things stress the ovary and pain is back I love walking and yoga even a little bicycling too. I have had to stop all of this mostly, which isn't good for me at all. I don't want to have to keep taking so many pills for too long for this not sure what to do to live a more active life again. maybe you or someone you know has some advise on this that could help here. I am open to suggestions for sure. Thanks your online friend, A.B.

That sounds like not fun at all...
15 Nov 11
Your right dawnald, not fun at all most days. Yet I have learned that support from my family and close friends weather online or not does seem to comfort and inspire me to keep going through this and I have also seen more and more just what a loving and caring family I do have who puts up with so much of my whining and complaining at times. Thanks, A.B.

I get a very upset stomach with strong pain meds. too I am lucky if I can keep them down usually so I try to stick with what is known as the nurse cocktail. Two tylenol and two advil close to the strength of most pain meds. but has ever made me sick yet. Thanks, A.B.

Good luck! The roomie says, just because she doesn't bleed any more, doesn't mean that she still doesn't get get all those nasty hormone thingies so watch out for that... My doc is glad I've never been all hormone-ie, but something is about to happen with me too... Seems that I'm having a "female problem" too, and a hormone problem... actually a lack of hormone problem so I guess its official, I'm post-menopausal...

That darn uterus. I think that they should all go in the dust bin after they have served their purpose. The ovaries are the ones I am concerned with keeping. I still have a uterus. I guess it will have to stay around until it starts to give me a hard time.

I really hope this works for you! If not, I know a hystercomy is next! That means surgery,a stay in the hospital and 6 weeks of recovery which it not fun! I should know! I know a hystercomy would be the last resort! I hope it is not needed! i will keep my fingers crossed!

i've noticed that too with some non-prescription pills. Sometimes drinking water makes it worse. I take it with juice of some kind that can't counteract with the pain medication. I hope that you get to feeling better after it's gone. Kids are a total blessing!

I'm glad to hear that you didn't have any complications so far with your procedure. It is common to have some queasiness that goes along with taking pain medications, especially if it is not something that you are used to. I know that I cannot take any kind of pain medication on an empty stomach, so if I have it, I have to either eat shortly before I take the medication or I need to eat immediately after the medication is taken.

Some of the regular pain pills they give will make you nauseous if taken on an empty stomach. It usually says so on the bottle, but I had the experience post dental surgery and learned the hard way. I am hoping that this was a successful procedure for you and you can get on with all the important things in life, like kicking R out the door.

Hope all goes well with you. when dear uterus no longer serve its purpose, it is only fair to discard it before it creates havoc inside the body.

It's good not to have pain when you don't take pain killers that make you feel queasy.
