Do you believe that eating before 6pm will help you lose your weight? Have you ever tried it? Did it work? Is it even healthy?

Eating after 6PM was probably more out a habit for me. I've tried in the past 2 months not to eat this late, but if I am really hungry, I just eat an apple or a banana. For me it works! I feel beter at night and I've lost 4 pounds:)

Hi katicutza: That's great. I consider myself a person with good habitudes and every time I try to do something I focus on my purpose until I get it but I fell in temptation on this. I would love to start with this habit. Hopefully on my next diet I will eat just oats for my dinner ALVARO

Dear friend, If you are having your dinner, I feel it would help to sleep better if you go after 8.pm. Moreover it also depends what you eat, how much you eat all. I feel normal eating would be better, moreover it would much better than the late night dinner or heavy dinner.Weight lose depends upon what one eats, how well that person do to reduce the wieght.

Hello Dani, I think we should eat some hours before we sleep as to give enough time for our digestive system to work on the food. Its better to eat small quantity at small intervals than to eat heavy meals and don't eat then for longer intervals. To loose weight you must check your diet you take and check the way you burn calories that you take in meals.

It should work, but it depends on what and how much you eat for dinner and all day. I tried not to eat after 6pm but I was not strong enough to keep it, since I went to bed around midnight. I had something light for dinner, then I was hungry all night and woke up being grumpy. If you go to sleep very early it's ok, otherwise eating 2-3 hours before bedtime seems to work as well.

I dont believe eating before 6pm will lose weight, because it depends on what you eat, example if you eat 5pm and your food are rice chicken pork and softdrinks, these foods are more fat.. So it depends to you.

I guess it depends a lot more than your last meal of the day. If you ate non-stop for the rest of the hours, this diet definitely won't work. The other thing is the time you sleep. The idea behind eating before a certain time is that it allows you some time to burn some calories. But if you last ate at 6 and slept at 630, there won't be much chances for you to burn your calories. I think there is a need to look into an overall diet and exercise regime.

Sure it helps because the stomach can work while we will be awake, eating too late will take that energy when we sleep so we not only will have a peaceless sleep but also it won't burn as much calory as it would if it was early. But 6 is for those who live a normal life, like wake up at 6 and go to sleep at 10 to 12, if your time is changed like mine for example than I had other hours to follow. Happy MyLotting!

I No, I don't think so because it won't work for me. I did try to eat at noon so to give time for my meals to be digest by my metabolism, nothing happen with my weight. I wonder if people can get result with that way because I can't.

Eating at least two hours before sleeping is fine. By the time you sleep, the food you ate is atleast a bit digested (complete digestion takes 24 hours or more). But you will miss the family dinner. Maybe Dad brought home something. Your younger brother will reveal that he's got his first girlfriend. Would you still think about eating at 6pm being healthy? Family matters are discussed at dinner time.

It' not just eating at certain hour, it involves more that that. First, look at what you are eating, in what proportion, how many times per day, do you excercise, do you drink plenty of water, do you eat snacks, too much sugar? If you're already overweight, you should start a regular program, be consistent, eat healthy and have a regular checkup with your physician.

Welcome to mylot, dani, I have heard that it is better to eat a small amount of food several times a day instead of eating a lot a couple of times. I know also that our body needs certain amounts of proteins, carbs, vitamins and minerals and a little fat to be healthy. The hour (as in a watch) has nothing ot do with it.I would not try it, but I have tried the mediterranean diet and it works. You lose weight little by little, but you keep it off. If you are interested, check it at the Mayo Clinic. Happy posting!

I think that it can help in losing weight because you don't need extra calories especially if you are working in the day and sleeping at night.I guess it can also help us to sleep earlier, as we are not too full and feeling bloated. However, controlling your weight does not only involves your eating time, you should also consider cutting on fatty food and simple sugars.Regular exercise is also need to shed those extra pounds.

No, I don't think this will work. Eat a balance diet, always exercise and always be happy. That what you need to stay healthy.

No I don't believe eating before 6pm helps to lose weight without doing exercises nor having a healthy meal diet. In order to lose weight you have to work it out your body through jogging and stretching every time you wake up early in the morning, lots of water and regular healthy diets. Something like that.
