I think I need to move towns...... as I don't seen to fit in..... ONLY JOKING
I went down town today and I didn't fit in..... it seems that to fit in in my town you either need to be pushing a pushchair (been there, done that) push a shopping trolley/bag on wheels or have one of these pavement scooters people now drive instead of using a wheelchair etc, as it seems that all there was down town today!!!
I'm only joking as I really like my town, but had to laugh as I had none of these things.
Reading my discussion topic what do you need "tongue in cheek" to fit in in your town/village/city etc.
Hope I have made you smile...... off for a shower and hairwash, catch you later folks

I think, in my town, I just need the fitness clothes to wear everywhere. Of course I like that because that is comfortable.

know what you mean, only for me...it was the other way around! The town I just left (not for this reason) had all the yuppie age folks in it and they wore the most disgusting and trashy clothes! I mean the men with pants hanging around their hips and underwear sticking out, the over weight women with skimpy, tiny, TIGHT little tube tops or spagetti strap tank tops on...TIGHT leggings, shorts shorts...everything showing. The elementary age kids were the nicest dressed! And even then..flip flops 365 days out of the year no matter the weather! Any mall or store there was like this! But I guess things change and the day of looking nice went out with the century change! They probably look at me and say, "oh look at her..she is dressed what they used to call "nicely" and nothing is showing?" Yeah, gotta just laugh!

I know Santa Ana Hatley! It was nice 40 years ago when I lived there! Don't "hermit" Anne18...just find a nice place to live! Where i was was relatively safe...just times change, fashion changes and so does society. I dread thinking of what "outter wear" and fashion is going to be 25 years from now!!!!
And yeah, if you time shopping trips right (i.e. around school times and never on weekends!) it isn't so bad. I then look at the women and think...don't you care how you look!?!??!?!?!

Thank you for your lovely repply.
I always look forward to reading your replies on my discussions.
Lots of different people live in your area. I also think that we could learn a lot from these poor people, and yes they do make wonderful neighbours and most of them are just so grateful for what we have given them.

I want one of those scooters. They're so much fun.
To fit in here, I'd need half a dozen tattoos (preferably of Japanese characters or those Celtic spiky things and around my neck ), two divorces, three illegitimate children, one of those leg bracelets that mean I'm being tracked by the police and a girlfriend with a push-chair, spandex leggings, huge earrings and more make-up than a Miss World pageant.

Hiya Anne,
Was watching a program yesterday and a Danish Woman remarked that she was leaving Spain the next Day with her Husband as where she lives in Denmark there is only peace and quiet, no problems and no pickpockets either bit hard to believe I found but maybe she is right.
Here if you have a shopping Trolley with Wheels you get stared out a lot until they get used to you it seems it´s something shameful to have anything like that on wheels except for Pushchairs also been there done that.
No Roller Skates allowed here huge fines very difficult for People in Wheelchairs also almost impossible.
Well I suppose you can´t have everything can you lol?
No People here with those Scooters only one and she has a little Dog so she is like a kind of Star round where I lived as I have just moved further out.xxx

Hiya Anne,
That´s okay it just came out that way as I remembered the Danish Woman I just hope it really is as peaceful and as wonderful as she stated and Her Husband said the same too.
We are plagued by pickpockets in Cities like Madrid and Barcelona by the way so if you do come here and you happen to go sightseeing please be very aware of those awful back pack type shoulder bags as they are very easy to get into.
A British Girl was lucky and got her purse back but others have not been so lucky the Spanish do run after the thieves they see a lot of times.
xxx

I think to fit into my town I would have to be a treehugger and a mallfan. I live in a town full of trees which I love. Oh, and a lot of parks. The mall here is very popular. I hope you enjoyed your shower and hairwash. I need to do the same. Should take a break and go do that. Hehe

Had a lovely shower and hairwash, not into showers but it is easier to wash my hair that way rather than lay down in the bath. Sometimes I stand in the shower and wash my hair and then have a proper bath as I'm a bath person, but there wasn't time for that tonight!!
Hope you got your shower or bath and a break.
Hope you have hugged a tree today, I would hug a tree but would hate to walk down the mall

I got away from bathes several years back now. I don't feel like I am clean. It is like I still have a film on my body. And I think of the bath being dirty no matter how clean it is. Like showers. I will break here soon when dinner is warmed up.

I need some roller blades to get around here. The buses are to slow, the traffic on the roads are crazy and to congested but with a pair of roller skates or blades I would get around fast.
Sounds like your town is full of older or impaired people that have a hard time getting around

Right at this moment I think that I neeed a thick skin
People will stop me and discuss - quite loudly- what they like or don't ike about my son's politics. I have my reaction down to a fine art now. I smile, pat them on their arm and and ask God to bess them and then, move on - very quickly
I do not enter into a discussion.

Hiya hatley,
In Santa Ana all that is going on? We have the Latin Kings here still and other kinds of Gangs going on and the Police here are stretched full time to keep up with the trouble they make and well of course other People mainly through having one over the top though and the other stuff you know.
We have seen what is happening in Juarez as well it´s just so awful it´s so hard to understand why they are allowed to go on with all that.xxx

Hiya Anne,
Although it´s terrible there are ordinary People that find themselves stuck there with nowhere to go either so I feel for them in particular and of course all the victims of those others that act that way.xxx

I guess for our town. Most of the people here are really nice and friendly. A lot of people are always smiling and seem so happy. So I guess as long as a person is having a good day people fit in well.

Hello, Anne18! Yes. You have made me laugh! You are reminding me of my two new friends. They are my coapplicants. We met yesterday. After our interview, we decided to take our lunch together. The other applicants seemed in a hurry to go home. Maybe because it was a Saturday. While eating, we asked for each other's cellphone number. I discovered that my cellphone is oldest model, the cheapest also. I laughed and told them to get ready because I'll buy the most expensive cellphone once I am already working in Australia. I told them "I'll get even."
We did enjoy that moment together. It seemed that we already met each other a few years back. We're hoping that we'll see each other again on Monday. There will be another interview on Monday. The employer will only contact those who are shortlisted. I feel I am one of them. I am so excited!

Really, I have to say that the reason that I don't really fit in here is because of the fact that the only kinds of shoes that I wear are tennis shoes because of the fact that they are the most comfortable for me. However, whenever I go out, I find that most of the other women that are out are wearing heels of all kinds. I just can't wear them because of an ankle injury that I had when I was a child and I'd rather not risk my ankle for my vanity.

Hiya spike,
Me too to fit in I would also need a couple of tattoos not sure what kind but I only like the ones that you can wash off lol.
A lot of Women here try to dress to fit in with Clothes that don´t suit them at all but who am I to say that they should´nt?
I only am the way I am and I don´t feel the need to follow any kind of Fashion in particular either.

HA HA HA LOL, at least you made me laugh a bit. In my town you don't see to much of that, it seems like here everyone is always in a hurry. People will literally push you out of the way if they could either physically, with a car or with anything they could get their hands on. On Friday (black friday) I heard in the news horrible stories about people pushing each other, hitting/fighting just to get things at the store. Shopping is suppose to be fun and exciting, not to be dangerous and to fear for ones life. That is scary, that is why I never go out to the stores on black friday. Everyone around my town is always in a hurry don't matter the age, young or old. The funny part is that the old folks are usually the worst.
