Why Shouldn't I become Famous

Hi lotters After creating this category, about one year ago, I thought to start posting into this one...(That is just an example how lazy I can get) They pulled up another statue of some martyr in our colony. There was a long speech, some distribution of sweets (those who are aware - it was Laddoos) and a small crowd had gathered too to attend the inauguration (unveiling) or even the eateries... Everytime they do such kind of acts, I wonder if I would ever be Famous. You see the monumentation is great so are the sweets and so is the crowd... but then it is all fine for that moment... what happens a few minutes later and ever after? Home for birds? or a place to handle the droppings from them? The other options that I could think of when I would become Famous were public parks, a road named after me. So can we discuss the ways they can tell you that you are famous and how would you feel like if you were given the privileges? Cheers theSids.

You can be famous too sids, as long as you have the money to make a monument of yourself and some foods and sweets to distribute, people will cheer and celebrate for you When that happens, do let us know so we can grab some sweets from you. As for me, I am sure I am not gonna be famous, so I never think of how I will celebrate it or to remind people of my name...

Hi enelym Self-sponsored made Famous Sounds interesting... but then many do it. I know beating your own trumpet has many advantages and the quickest way to becoming famous is - Blow that trumpet at midnight(maybe a little later around 2:30 or 3:00 am) when all in neighborhood are sleeping like logs and I am sure the next day they all will be talking about you and who knows they might even visit you

Hi tamirs So what do you want? To be or not to be? Sometimes not answering the question straight helps in making someone famous no doubt I have a list of politicos who became famous just because they never answered the question anyway (I hate spitters... especially here when they chew those beetles and other stuff and go around spitting... Gosh! they never will understand the value of money)

I surely wouldn´t want a statue of myself in a public park. To tell the truth I´m not interested in fame anymore. It´s one of those things that die with age. And I have personally met a lot of famous people and most of them were very modest. The main thing, I think, is that you do what you want to do. If that gives you fame or not is second priority. Happy posting!

I suppose that we are talking about different kinds of fame. Movie star fame doesn´t go well with modesty. But I have met reknowned scientists and people of arts who are just doing what they like to do. They are people, like you and me.

Hi marguicha Statues always have such a bad air with them When you mentioned Famous persons with modesty... I am sorry, these are a rare breed to find at my place. Either they are famous or they are modest. I am happy with the small assignments that I keep getting from my well wishers and I am sure all of this just because they are not that famous. Had they been famous, they would have their own world to attend to and care for... and in that busy schedule who would care for someone as lowly as me

Yeah. I know one such scientist - He became the President of India and trust me when he asked for meeting us (we were a team of programmers who were working on a contract basis with the firm) I realized his greatness. I wished people like him ruled India but then Scientists and Politics are poles apart. I believe this is possible (the scientists or artistes being modest despite being famous) because they are much deep into their trade and Fame Doesnt make them wayward instead more focussed on their work

Hi Mamu Thats why Gandhi told in "munnabhai MBBS".... mere jitne tasbeer dewar mein hata do( the all pictures of mine which are hanged, keep them aside)... mere naam pe jitne chourahe hain, wahan se mera naam hata do ( Displace my name plate from all roads which are named after me).... mere jitne murtiya hain, gira do ( the all statues of mine, break all them)..... rakhna hain to mujhe dil main rakho ( if you want to keep my name, your heart is the best place) Because, most statues, monuments are decorated by birds on its upper side.... and lower side is decorated by saliva, spittle.... I dont want to be famous too mamu.

If I were to become famous , I would feel so exposed. I'm not used to being heard yet alone being famous. Here in the States , you don't get statues made of you , you get paparazzi following you Everywhere. Lies about you are told and believed No , I rather be rich than famous.

There is a famous scientist who is born on my island. In my town there is a big statue of him, and my husband sometimes jokes about it and says that I will be the next famous person from our island and get a statue next to him But I don't really want to be famous. I like to be able to walk around in the streets without being noticed and I like to keep my privacy. I would like to sell more paintings than I do at the moment, but I am not interested in become a famous person that every recognizes, not even if I get my own road or statue

I am not one to fight for the limelight, but I would want credit given where credit is due..lol. I think if I were famous..people would be naming their children after me and products too. Maybe I would be on the front of a cereal box as the picture of health

Hi JenInTN Oh... Dont believe that someone really doesnt want to become famous but then... Cereal Boxes are a great way to start the campaigns And I am quite sure that you would really be a great model for that - may be an Ambassador - you are so very loving a mom and that is what these people (who make adverts and use people to gain on their goals) do. I am sure,it US or UK doesnt work, India will definitely work out... many things sell here just because they know how to play with emotions

You should become famous if you would like, but I definitely do not want to become famous. I have actually never understood why so many people want to be famous. I can understand wanting to have more money, especially if you do not have a lot. I can also understand wanting to be liked my many people. However, fame is something entirely different, and I just do not understand the appeal it has to so many people.

Well, you can be liked by a lot of people without being famous. Similarly, you can be famous without being liked by a lot of people. I think that it is good if you can live in the hearts and minds of people for the good deeds you do/have done in your lifetime. I think that sort of thing is wonderful, and I can definitely understand why people would try to achieve that type of notoriety.

Hi PA Hmmm that is a question to haunt me for a while - why do people want to become famous... Money, Power... women? May be many more I only know one way to be famous - quite similar to what you mention - liked by many people - this is what is my yardstick and I believe, living in hearts or in thoughts for good deeds is much far paying that earning some fame by doing anything bigger. That way is simple to achieve and easy to accomplish.

I do not want to be famous because my photo will appear in all newspapers and magazines and after they are read they will be thrown in the bin or even used to wrap peanuts!

I'd like you to make a beautiful lake in my name, when I'm famous. Think you can handle that? If I'm rich as well by that time, I'd provide all the expenses. But if I'm still poor like now, I'm afraid you'll have to bear the expenses. I give you my full permission to ask for the government grant.

Hi zralte A Lake? Murder someone and throw the body in that lake? Fish Food I am sure the Guv will not sponsor that kind of a project - it will do it on its own to keep it for Scams that keep surfacing from time to time... But yes, if you are rich, as mentioned above, self-sponsoring is a great idea to start with... Let us think of some ways to make more money (mylot income?)

So you wanted some road and parks named after you, sids. That's good, because you have a goal so you can be motivated to be famous. But as for me, i have never wanted to be famous. I just want to go on with my life happily and simply. Just being with my family , makes me already happy. And i guess, i don't want people to look at me because of something that made me famous. I just would like to be able to go on with life without people disturbing me to have my autographs. I like my privacy.

Hello Sids, Take it easy bro its not necessary to be famous. I don't like to be famous as it has its own merits and demerits.People who are famous not necessarily are appreciated there are people who literally abuse them for anything. So its better to be a common man.

Hi sjvg "Bro"? I read on Page 1 that I should be a Politician.... So Lobbying already (kidding) Dear, I 100% agree that the famous people are not always appreciated. I am happy to have been simple, having time for me and my family and I am sure I would miss all this that I get around if only I was famous. The common man however, I am better off as I find the common man tussling with the daily needs to earn to live. My illness has been a boon in this aspect and I do work and anything on my will (which of course is guided by the illness) lol.
