Has getting pregnant taken on a new meaning for Michelle Duggar?

A few years back I started a discussion regarding the Duggars and their many pregnancies. Initially Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar stated that they would continue to have children as long as God kept blessing them with healthy children. Not exactly word for word but that was the gist of it. Ok so what's up Mrs. and Mr. Duggar? Your last two pregnancies have been life threatening nightmares! In 2009, Their daughter Josie was born extremely early due to preeclampsia. Recently she just had a miscarriage in her second trimester. She's 45 years old and has 19 healthy and happy children and two grandchildren. Isnt that enough of a sign to tell you to stop and enjoy the children you have? I know what it's like to want children soooo bad that you'd do anything. I have buried 2 sons and a daughter. Not to mention several early miscarriages. I get so mad because she's got such a lovely family. Why cant you be happy with that? Are the Duggars sure they are having more children for the same reasons they had their first? Television loves to be the one show it first. Money is an excellent persuasion. I just feel bad if something terrible happened to her or her child. Time to quit while you're ahead Michelle. What do you think, is it for the money?

I completely agree. I understand some religions don't believe in using birth control, but people should still use restraint and common sense! The fact that her last one was so complicated should have been a sign that it is time to stop, but apparently it was not enough for her. I have multiple friends who can't have kids and had to go through loops to adopt, so it's annoying to see someone popping them out left and right just for TV. I don't care what she says, I believe it's for TV! I don't trust anyone who would put their family on TV. I felt the same way about Kate! Although Kate was a nasty person in general. Michelle may be nicer and have a nice family, but she is still doing it just for TV in my opinion.

So I get it now, it is for TV that is why she is having that as many children as she can have. She must be reaping harvest of money from out of this activity. There goes the problem about having too many children in the family. Although there will be plentiful of money from out of TV earnings, the children are never getting enough attention and discipline from the parents. It takes so much time to spend with each and every child in order to be able to inculcate in each and everyone of them the right and good values in life. This is so because, these values are truly so very plentiful and a parent will have to talk this with the child over and over to make sure that the child has ingested it right.

She had a lot of children before the show started, but I really feel the reason she keeps it up is for TV. They get paid per episode, and I'm sure she gets other benefits as well. She has fans now - and you know fans will do crazy things for people they are obsessed with. The children will never get enough attention, I completely agree! I thought about it before. With 20 kids, if she wanted to spend alone time with each kid each month, she really only has time for 1 day a month with each kid (including some breaks!). I don't know about you but I like to spend a lot of time with my baby girl. I'd feel horrible if I could never have alone time with her.

You guys are awesome!!! I totally believe she's being sort of selfish. She couldnt honestly care properly for 19 children without help. Because she's not going to hire anyone, It falls on her children and other family members. Its time for her to enjoy her family. I, myself, have buried four children. I have two living daughters, thank the lord, but would have loved to have my others with me too. Then to watch her basically spitting them out and getting paid for it was tough. I must admit I feel bad for the children. I dont honestly believe that EVERY one of them wants to make their own clothes and live way they do. Im sorry I have a teenager. Its fair to say that she should be thankful all her children love and respect her enough not to speak out or rebel. Look ate Kate Gosslin. Eventually someone talks. Im surprised they havent spoke out about their parents. If you watch some of the show, The kids are off the wall! They are yelling and jumping. she hides it well, That is an example of someone doing it for the money. Thanks Dml

I think it is for her own personal identity as well as for the attention from the media. She defines herself as a pregnant person, or mommy of a newborn. She needs to stop before those other kids become orphans.

Good point Gert! I hadnt really thought about it like that. all she knows is being pregnant. Her body knows nothing else. She has spent most of her life having children. If they take that away from her, what will she do. In a flash, her identity was lost. Its not easy establishing a new identity at 45. Thanks Gerty. dml

really? you have to ask? apparently they get some crazy high per episode. it is one thing to say you are willing to do whatever God wants in private, its totally another to parade it in public.

there is a rumor although they deny that they are a part of the "plentiful" movement which believes in having as many kids as possible so that their religion (i think its christianity not positive) can take over the world with all of their kids working together to take over political offices etc. like i said they deny they are a part of it BUT the site sells their stuff so you can take it for what you think it means. i find plentiful very disturbing honestly

May be ,they started out having kids, because they wanted them, nay be the are into that God blessing and all,but it sure changed when they made a living on it!.And I do not think that it is fair to the older kids to have to bring up the younger ones.Because no matter what they say, that how it is..I know families that live this way,and I find that is a power trip on the part of the parents, they like to rule their little kingdom.

Right now, I don't know why she would have so much money if she can have so many children. However, each and every child is a liability to their parents and the offsprings of these children are still partly a responsibility that cannot be shaken off for as long as the parents live. I just could not imagine how to discipline all of that many kids. I found it so difficult seeing through my children when i have three of them already. It seemed impossible to make sure that everyone will grow up to be proper and worthy of the Lord's grace. I always checked on my kids, including how they behave outside of home and the friends that they go with. I always remind them to make sure that they bring their friends to our home so I will know them, too. This way, I will have a thorough knowledge as to what they do during the times when they are having their freetime. I know that my kids are thankful that I had taken the pains of doing this although my hands had always been too full with things to do. Now, they are all grown ups and have become very lovable kids. It is important for me that they regard me as the best friend that they can ever have. The bible so stipulates that we can have as many children as we can if we can subdue them. That is in the old testament. In the new testament, St Paul says that it is best to stay in single blessedness if you can or have the least number of children if you marry. In the new testament, it is discipline in all aspects of life that is being promulgated...that is, being taught to the true Christians. Have a good day, dioveli. I am one in thought with you.

I couldn't agree more that it's time to quit while she's ahead! Can you imagine the abuse her body has been through after so many pregnancies and births? Sure, it's a "natural" thing women go through but I don't think any of us were built to be pregnant non-stop for over two decades not to mention the fact of her age. I've little doubt the money and attention they're getting for being on TV has had a huge influence over the decision to have yet another baby but let's face it, Michelle, you can't go on having babies forever! Enjoy the kids you already have and the grandchildren you have and will have in the future. Annie

For me I guess I shouldn't be the one to judge what they do with their lives...and there is a more powerful being calling the shots.....for the most part. I am glad however it's not me!

I think that if what they are saying wasn't true there have been some tell tale signs after awhile. They always seem positive and in good spirits and so I would say that they must enjoy a big family. I personally think she has way more than enough children and should quit. Who knows?

I think God is trying to give the Duggars a hint of "no more chldren"! I don't think the Duggars are satisfied with 19 children and 2 grandchildren! I think they are nuts and unrealistic! I don't know if money is why they are doing this or not! One thing is for sure, the Duggars need to stop having children! Michelle's body can't keep this up! Having 19 kids has taken a tolal on her body and she isn't listening to it! Does she have to die before the message gets across? Enough is enough!
