all those wishing.........in good faith or just formal quip

It has become quite commonplace to shower choicest blessings on people we happen to meet. Thus go the words of formal wishing : bEST OF LUCK, bEST WISHES, aLL THE BEST, ALL tHE VERY BEST, wARM REGARDS, HAVE A NICE DAY, HAVE A VERY NICE TIME ,lOTS OF LUCK AND GOOD WISHES, TAKE CARE , GOD BE WITH YOU ............. It is quite doubtful whether the person who voices out such a fine greeting of words really mean it !

It is good to know that there are two of us of a kind in this one.

I usually say those words to people that I get in contact with. Whenever I do that, I sincerely mean every word that i utter as regards it. I really wish the best of everything for a person. I really hope that everything turns out right for everyone so that this world becomes a better place to live in...to settle in for everyone. This is the reason why whenever somebody sends me good wishes, it always brings me joy in my heart. I hope that, everyone truly say those good utterances from out of the wellness from deep within their hearts, just as well. Because, that will make a lot of difference. Because, it becomes a prayer. And being said in a prayer, there will always be big chances that the Lord God will hear it and grant it.

You are among the minority who have a sincerity of purpose in expressing out feelings. Wish many would follow suit.God bless you ( that is from the innermost recesses of my heart, I swear)

You are correct. What used to be sincere good wishes have become so automatic that they are meaningless. If you want to change this, try saying them like I do. I say "I hope you have the best of luck" or "I'll pray that God blesses you with (whatever they need)". Now that it is the Christmas season here in the USA, people are saying "merry Christmas" automatically and I counter that with "I hope you have a wonderful and happy Christmas!". The extra words give meaning to a phrase that has become meaningless due to commercialism and mindless repetition. Try that. Your friends and collegues and strangers will pick up on it, feel as if you really mean it and maybe rethink their own responses. This is a very good topic to bring up!

hi sukumar if I use any of these as I hate a lot of them as they become meaningless.it will be because I do mean it with all my heart and I will not use some of those all the time either. If the person has touched my heart even if we are not friends yet I will bless them or say my best wishes. So it depends on the person who uses any of these terms as they are often misused and just paid lip service to. I do not make a habit of using these like most peop;le do. only for someolne I do really care about .

When there is little harm in sincerely supporting one's well being, it a pity most do not act along those lines.

This is SOOOO true. I think that in many cases people want to be looked upon well and seen in a good light. They say what they think the other person wants or needs to hear. All these phrases you gave are just a way to finish an email or the right thing to say in leaving, etc. It is what is expected, not heart felt.

It is great wishing someone a better stature...but the words should come deep from our hearts.

Might be in your country or where you live but not where I live. We don't have that much expressions, wishes and big change you only get one at your birthday and during christmas/New Year. god be with you was once written on the side of our national coin.. good thing they deleted that and did not put it on the euro. All those wishes are meaning less, esp. if said just so.

Nobody means any of the good things they wish each other thousand times throughout the day. It has just become another part of speech, like ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’. Even here in mylot I come across so many posts where you know people have met with accidents or are going through a bad patch and others volunteer to pray for them, keep them in their prayers…I wonder does this really work? I mean how intensely can you pray for strangers!!! We are not prophets

Honestly, when I say something like this, I mean it. The reason that I tend to be that way is because of the fact that I've always been a very genuine person. When I say something, it is something that I mean. That is actually the reason that I'm finding it hard right now to tell my husband that I love him right now because I'm having a really hard time with him right now because he is dealing with what might be an addiction problem and it is causing harm to our family.

Hiya sukumar, In agreement with trinidad totally there honesty shows and you cannot hide it usually you might be a bit shy in saying it out loud but you can always wish it in your Heart as well. I have made many Friends in this way because my face is a picture I cannot hide how I feel most of the time. Okay I am not a good actress maybe only on the Telephone lol.xxx I like what Dragon says too she is very honest there as well.xxx

Hiya sukumar, Have to say that when I say anything like warmest regards or the best of luck which is what I usually say and I only say this to People whom I get to know in a certain way. I don´t usually say it to just anyone who passes by although I might think it to myself at least. Same thing for me as what I say comes from the Heart and it is totally heartfelt I never say anything like that without feeling it deep down. It is the intention that counts first even if you might have doubts about the Person whatever who am I to know what everyone else can be or should be I just wish them and if I do you can be sure its for real not something to add on the end of a Greeting Card or Letter. xxx

I dont know for sure but here is my take on it. There are some phonetics that can create vibrations leading to good or bad. For example the word ma. It immediately creates some feeling of security around us. So even if we utter good things, good things will happen. Ditto for bad things. In other words, if we utter bad things, bad things will happen.
