I got a call from my former boss yesterday.
I was so surprised because i didn't think that after the resignation they will still call me and ask for help.
They are having a hard time doing the quantity estimate for the three, three-storey residential building which bidding due on December 21 and 22.He is asking me to spare a week of my time to go to Manila to help them do that estimate.
But because of my daughters health, i told him to just send me the plans via e-mail,so i can do the estimates here.I will send them the details when i am done. But because they are not very familiar with my ways of estimating and the strategies,They want me to be there at least two days before the bidding so we can finalize the estimate together with the team.Well, not so bad.
The floor plans came to me yesterday thru my yahoo mail, and looking at it,i think they will really need help to be able to get the project awarded to them.
Now, i am starting on the estimates and maybe i can spare at least two days before the bidding to work with them again. I'll also take that as a-two-day tour for me and my daughter.Maybe we can go shopping there after working hours. It will also be memorable for my daughter too if we can go ice skating together again. :-)
I will miss all of you guys, i need to finish the estimate the soonest i can.But surely ill have at least an hour here in my lot everyday. :-D

Good things that you may able to estimate projects something like that. I think your an Civil Engineer in profession, my friend...
If you do such things...you can be able to stand alone as a contractor in any government or private housing in your area...
My Architect, friend doing such thing. He is a contractor in many housing projects and he is the boss...

Oh! I see...you right, my friend. You need some extra money to bid any project. My Architect friend is backing up by AYALA and most of his projects before was given to him by AYALA company till he is well known to his project and now he manage to have his own project because his previous client called him...when someone planing to build a house...
Try to bid in the government project, my friend. Government project is easy unless you give the DPWH in what they called for the boys to start your own construction company...

Yes friend, i am a civil engineer by profession.
I used to get projects before as subcontractors but to be a full time subcontractor requires a lot of money to start with and a lot of time to spend to.And honestly speaking i don't have that two qualities/requirements to be a full time contractor.
Anyway, That is not my priority eversince i got married. :-D

Congratulations. This will be a nice time away for you and your daughter. That is great that they still thought of calling you. They must have liked your work as to call you again for your help.
I would have taken the week as your daughter is doing well on medication. But, I guess 2 days is good too.
Good Luck.

Yes it is a good thing you insisted on your daughter having an x-ray, they sometimes show things the doctor can not hear. Glad to hear that she has gone back to school. It is so nice that she is feeling so much better.
Have a nice day.

Hi sweetie.
Hope your daughter is a bit better now.
I would say those 2 days from home will do you good.
Just to get your breath back, even if you still have to work.
Great that your former boss phoned you though.
Just goes to show how much they appreciate your work.

Hi dear saph,
Thankfully, she is having good reaction with all the medicines she is taking.Hopefully by then she has fully recovered, so we'll have good time ice skating together.I also think i need to do that every once in a while.
They love me saph, like their own daughter. :-)
But of course, even your own daughter will need to leave to collect herself.
And i love them too, that's why i can't say no just like that.

Honey it is fine to get caught up in the discussions and interraction here on my lot. But there is no need to miss us while you have your little two day holiday. I am certain that you will come back with stories and anecdotes to tell us about the trip, the shopping, and your little girl, so you're actually taking us with you! Have fun, enjoy the break in your routine, make the most of the time with your daughter. Don't worry about us, we'll be hear and waiting when you come back.

Wishing you the Best in this venture. Just do not rush things, and do as they are wanting. For you to be included in something like this means they Trust you with your decisions, and know that you could be a vital asset for this deal. Hopefully things will work with this, and you will get paid nicely on this as well.

I think it's a good thing that you'd have some work done before the holidays because you'll have the additional finances to spare for shopping. I think it's good too if you bring your daughter along so that she could spend some time with you in another city (or place).
Good luck to the trip and I hope you and your daughter would enjoy yourselves. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

My daughter will really be very happy to go to Manila again,it's been 7 months when she last go there. She used to study in Manila when she is at grade one.And she always spends her vacation there to have summer class.

Hi tamirs
Okay, I am late here (you know I am always late
). No this time, I was around... but didnt respond then. Reason- It is Christmas and NewYear time and I dont want to miss a friend of mine.
So Why I am here Now? I am here now because I just realised that you mentioned you will be around - 1 hour or so per day. Should have read that line the first time I was here...
Okay now for the response - Yes, when we are into the real world, we cannot ignore the work and other important things that we need to attend to. I am happy that your ex-employer still trusts you (Quite a Rare thing) But knowing you I feel that you are good and honest. That will always be counted as Virtue no matter which part of the world you are.
And also the discussion confirms my belief that moms are the best

Hi tamirs! It seems to be a season for people taking off from myLot for various reasons! I read & commented just an hour ago on another post here by surekha rathi who is saying she felt sad she had so many things to tend to, that she may get lesser time at myLot.
It feels good to be valued by former employers and it also means that you really had done quite well earlier. Cheers. And you have reason for excitement on social & entertainment front too. That's great!
I have posted some time back here that my Company wants to create a central contract management cell which has no one working right now and therefore wants me to initiate but at a different place to the one I currently live. This has meant a lot of activity right now for connected with relocation and a bit of hectic activity in the new assignment. I'll be off and on here, too.
