Ok TSA, what is missing from your "TSA Top 10 Good Catches of 2011"

Let's see, there was a student's science project... a few inert landmines... The flare gun (with seven flares) as well as the throwing knives were actually good catches... But hmmm, what is missing from this list? Actual terrorists maybe? :~D Maybe it's time we reassess this whole course of action and start doing things that resemble actual security. At least they (at the TSA) do have a sense of humor. The blog article about Invisible Space Aliens (in the "honorable mention" section was a nice touch. ;~D http://blog.tsa.gov/2012/01/tsa-top-10-good-catches-of-2011.html

They also confiscated an old grandma's cupcake saying that the icing on it was a "gel" and since the cupcake weighed over 3 ounces they were required to confiscate it. Thank god we have such diligent security. Those cupcakes are a freaking menace.

I was wondering what the deal was with the cupcake that somebody kept referencing throughout the comments section on the website..thanks for the clarification!

Even today, sometimes I look at the TSA and think, all we have really done is created another bloated government agency. I mean, over the years, has TSA really stopped anything? I am not saying we should get rid of the agency. I am simply questioning if it really ever served a real purpose that we could not have accomplished through local law enforcement.

There's that story I read recently about the girl with an avid liking for the Wild West whose purse with an EMBOSSED moulding of a western revolver on the flap got Her the "special" treatment going through the scanners...

I wonder if the student got an A on his science project. He certainly deserved one.

What a waste of our money the TSA is. Instead of screening like El Al that catches actual terrorists we irradiate people, humiliate them and terrorize children and oldies. And never catch even one terrorist! Someone might catch them inflight such as the "shoe bomber" but never at the departure point. How many trillions have we spent on this ridiculous program? They have never caught even one terrorist. What a waste of money but what a wonderful way for the government to get us to accept the beginning of outright tyranny.
