If organic foods were the same price or just a little more, would you buy them? There are many reasons to buy organic foods including normally grown foods leave poisons and other chemicals on the that can hare or even kill people. Pluse normally grown foods crops actually "kill the soil" that means that the poisons and other chemicals will kill the bacteria, fungus, earthworms and other critters that help to feed the organically grown foods. The crop residue is then not able to be broken down for future plant foods and will be hauled off to the landfills and therefor will fill the landfills faster. Plus if you eat organic food, they taste better especially if fresh. If you can think abut growing some vegetable in you yard or even in your house, You will be feeling better about growing something yourself plus ou will save a little money (depending on how much you grow).

I am fortunate enough to live right next door to a really wonderful organic supermarket. Some prices are higher but I am buying for just me. I buy a lot of organic but not everything. I do spend a very high percentage of my earnings on food. Preventing illness and staying healthy is more fun and cheaper than being ill and trying to get well.

I wish I lived close to an organic store. Even though I don't I still buy mostly organic, the only non organics I buy is fish, I've yet to see any where that has organic fish.

Organic foods are the safest but sadly they are priced too high for many people to afford. I would prefer organic food but they are priced too high I have no choice to settle for the other. I do grow my own crop as much as I could in my own backyard so that at least I could have my own organically grown foods at no cost at all.

I grow fruits and vegetables in my yard. Also I buy some at the grocery store when the fruit or vegetable is in season for my area. I'll admit there are some foods that are just to high for me to even consider organic.

Actually, I have been watering my plants with fish tank water some of the time, as you know I have to water my plants a couple times a week. Also have put some of the fish tank water on the lawn, which helps lower my water bill.

Using water from your fish tanks will help to put nourishment in the plants. You can do an experiment bu taking two of the same plants and watering one with just tap water and the other with water from your fish tank. See which one grows the best, By taking water from your fish tank, it will help to do a water change in your fish tank.

Yes - I've grown up on organic fruit & vegetables all my life. The organic certifiers have over twenty good reasons to buy organic fresh produce posted on their websites. I sprout my own grains & legumes & soak seeds & nuts as well. Much better for you that way. I've tried growing my own vegtables, but can't do better than a few herbs in pots, which don't always grow to plan. I need more land & more time! It is indeed ideal to harvest vegetables as we use them instead of buying them from cold storage. I only buy certified organic fresh produce & it costs about double the regular stuff. It's still good value for money & we feel better knowing what we're getting - or not getting as is the case. It's the real price of real food... we get what we pay for.

You're correct, organic is well worth the price. I also prefer organic meats and poultry, it's made a big difference in my health.

Organic food are not easily found here at my place. The most organic food we can find is a natural wild food. There are a lot of naturally grown plant here which are sold at the market. Fern and tapioca is just a few of them. The ordinary food which was grown by people usually non-organic. Maybe the cost of growing organic food cause a lot of people refrain from it. Right now, I try to plant my own vegetables for my own consumption without using a lot of chemical. Not 100% organic, as I still use chemical ferteliser, but at least a much better than what found at the market.

Have you tried to make a compost pile to use in the garden? If you haven't then I suggest that you read up on it and learn that it is cheaper than chemical fertilizers and much better for you and the soil.

I already read about how to make compost pile. It seems like a lot of work at first. Nevertheless it is free. I know it is effective as I heard a lot of good review about it from people around me. Thanks for remind me about this compost.

Organically grown foods are not that cheap here and that is the main reason why I am unable to purchase them. But if the difference is not that big, I definitely would buy it. Up to this day, I've only tasted organic rice. The taste is good, the color is appealing to the eyes and the smell is really pleasant. One of my projects is to grow my own organic foods in the pot. I live on the city that is why space is not a luxury that I have :)

If you have a balcony you can put in a few pots of organic compost and grow a few vegetable for yourself. Or you might be able to grow small vegetable up a wall near a bright window. You will have a stand or other way to put pots over each other near the bright window (so that each plant will receive enough light) Make sure that they do not get too hat or too dry.

I already did a lot of research for possible options that I can implement here and having the veggies grown on the wall really caught my attention. If I am not mistaken, it was a month ago. But due to projects in the office, it got sidelined up to this day. I'll work on it hopefully within the first quarter of the year :)

I go to farmers markets and a lot of organic farmer sell at the stalls, with certified products at the same price as produce in most other stores, normally a little more expensive then the other mass produced stalls though. The fact that the food tastes better is the big reason to choose organic. Though in normal stores the price can be 2 or 3 times that of large scale production, it is better for you. The ideal is having a little garden, cherry tomatoes do not need a lot of space and are great to add to salads, they are also decorative, peppers, lettuce etc are fine for a really small garden. Then there is the herb gardens for people who have little or no space. Adding some chives, fresh oregano, thyme or parsley to food gives it that extra flavour.

I prefer to buy only organic and it's worth the price because I do not need medications. I wish the prices of the poison foods would be higher but it's not, what a shame. One draw back is that fish is not organic, I love fish.
