The Doctors say my shingles have subsided. Gone for now. Hope they don't come

back. Turns out I had a demotology (skin) doctor appt. one day and then my oncology (chemo) dr. the next. Both said the eruptions are over. So I'm happy as a clam. So a couple of weeks isn't bad and I guess you can have it mild which I'm very grateful for.

I am so happy for you..so you had a mild case, which is great, I have heard the worse cases are a real nightmare...Now, take care; I am off to check my school's forum and then probably to work on my story again..:D

Glad to hear that you are finally over with your shingles. I would say you had a mild case of them. Now you can go out and about without worrying about anyone else catching anything. Have a lovely day.

Trying to sleep was bad for me too. As I had alot of pain and burning on my thigh. I had to lay on that leg so I could get some sleep. I think the pain would get so bad that I also kind of passed out. Days could be just as bad because of the pain, so I would try and take naps. I couldn't wear slacks unless I went somewhere. Otherwise I stayed in shorty pajamas or shorts for most of the 8 weeks. I had mine in the months of May and June.

It does sound as if you had a mild case and then got treatment really quickly. I am so glad for you, because I have known people who had serious problems with shingles.

Shingles are no fun and i hope they don't come back. Glad they have subsided. The chemo must be fun. NOT.

Oh yes, one thing after another. Virus the kids had one week, shingles the next and then chemo. I hope I get a reprieve here!

Glad to hear it is over! I have heard they can be terrible! A mild case can be bad too. I hope they never come back. My grandmother's doctor told her they could be triggered by stress. I think they are dormant in the nerve endings. Take care and congrats!

I heard the shingles virus hangs out in your spine. Who knows, didn't research that aspect of it. Just getting rid of it. Stress would be a good guess.

I know, that's funny. Try to be stress-free, I'd have to give up thinking.

I think that stress will be a factor now if it wasn't before. I remember they told my grandmother to remain as stress free as possible to prevent a flare up. Thanks for the best response!

Let's hope you don't go to a clam bake any time soon! Chemo can do very odd things to one's skin. I enjoyed - yes, I did rather enjoy it because it was fascinating and didn't hurt a bit - peeling huge areas of skin from my hands and feet ... nearly large enough to use as parchment. Shingles is quite another thing, of course. It's usually caused by the same virus as chicken pox which may have lain dormant for many years and then suddenly attacks the nerve endings under the skin. Anything even remotely similar is exceedingly painful. I'm glad you are over it!

Right now there seems to be a delay between my hands and when I feel pain when I pick up something hot. There may be a delay between my feet and my brain and when I feel pain, too.

My husband had them a few years back. I think it was a mild case too but he also had a few other things going on at the time and he was a mess. I'm glad you are back to yourself as you already have enough on your plate I'm assuming with having cancer to deal with.

I am so glad you had a mild case. You can catch it again, but that is not usual.

I'm hoping I don't get it again, but yes, it is possible.
