I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes

No, love isn't all around me, it's bloody pins and needles! Do you find yourself in certain positions where your fingers or toes start tingling? I can spend at least 30 mins at a time walking around like a chicken on hot bricks trying to get some feeling back into my extremities. Are you a sufferer, and more importantly, can you help me out here?

Oh, I often get pins and needles and I think it is to do with circulation. I try to not sit still for too long. I hope all the tingling has stopped @Orson_Kart

@bluesa Oh it's pleasant alright. More of a flutter than a tingle I think, but I'm no expert. You've now made me think of another song I'll have to link you to. Bare with me

It comes and goes. Like you I try not to sit too long. Strangely I've got a different sort of tingling right now.

Can't help you out friend, sorry. I can go one better though. You know when you hit your funny bone and the pain shoots up your arm to the pinky finger and the ring finger? and they both tingle for a while? The nerve that is hit is called the cubital nerve and I have somehow damaged mine so I have that numb but tingly sensation is in my fingers all the time. It hurts, it really does. I've had it for about 2 months now.

I just read a response that referred to your "wife" and I'm devastated. I thought we were on the path to "true love". Guess I was wrong...again. *insert tragic gesture here*. My cubital nerve has still not healed and I still have the discomfort I mentioned 6 months ago.

So true. I hope though that we can ever remain "true friends"? Dare I hope? *sounds of violins playing tragic music in the distance*

Aw, MsTickle, I feel quite upset myself after readin this. I never knew, and it has been 6 months...and three weeks. Nothing more frustrating or disappointing than unrequited love.

i can sing, but i can't sing i am blessed with good voice. Sometimes there are songs which i can sing well, but not that great. i don't have great talent for singing...or anything... sure there's always frustration when we feel old enough. cause there are things we can't do or have because of so many reasons...we just have to learn what we have and try new things if possible. learn from our mistakes and go on with life...too much frustration will just make us more sad and stop us from enjoying life. remember life is short. we have to maximize our time to do what is there to do...or regret how much time has passed.

I like a good singsong. Are you a good singer? I'm not, so I am best humming the tune. I have the body of an old man and the mind of a teenager, ergo I suffer from a lot of frustration.

I have felt tingling sometimes especially if I sit down crossing over my legs or sleep over my arm. This is usually due to pressure exerted on our nerves or sustained pressure over a long period of time like when we cross over our legs. If the problem is temporary and has no medical basis, it should be relieved as soon as you remove the pressure that is causing it. However, if the tingling is accompanied by other symptoms like pain, itching, numbneess this could be a sign of nerve damage which can be due to injuries or other medical conditions like diabetes.

It is good that you know what causes your problem, the injuries sustained during the car accidents is definitely most likely responsible for the sensation. I am not aware that age can cause the problem.

It happens to me all the time. lately it has been my right knee, especially if I sit down regardless of where I will always get a tingling on the right side of my knee. Then there's my feet and hands. A lot is to do with my car accidents and some nerve issues. The other I am told by the doctor, is age. :(

Could be an age thing, but I put it down to not moving positions often enough and my feet in particular going to sleep.

It can be a circulatory problem or nothing at all but maybe a doctor's opinion would be best.

@lokisdad yeah, see were all in pain and suffering. I pulled my ribs coughing and carpet cleaning. It is nice to know why your in pain, strangely it helps!

It could be a lot of things. Sometimes a picture nerve between vertebrae c6 to t1 can cause that in the arms, and a pinched nerve in L1 to s1 can cause it in the legs.

What timing! Yesterday it was drivin g me crazy. Every time I went to stand up, I got it. Almost like electricity was going through my legs. I went online and found a discussion. Alot of them said it was from diebetes. I knew that wasn't it for me. I read a few that said it was a pinched nerve. That made more sense. So I did some stretching excercises that I do when I got a pinched nerve in my lower back. This morning I got up. stood up. no buzzing feeling. I walked around a little. it came back a little, but not half as bad as yesterday. I'm going to do it again tonight.

A pinced nerve? I've never stolen anything in my life, so it can't be that.

I have times when I lay wrong and my arm or leg "goes to sleep". It can be pretty painful, but short of changing my position there's not much to make it go away. It sounds like you have a circulation problem, have you spoken with your doctor about this?

I often wake with my arms asleep and I have to literally throw myself to one side to get myself off them. A weird sensation it is. Last time I went to the doctors I had a strawberry stuck in my ear and he gave me some cream for it. Delicious.

I was wondering if it was love all around you for a minute. I can lay in certain positions where my arm or hand falls asleep. Feet too, but it only happens when I have to stay in one position for a long period of time. Rubbing the areas that have fallen asleep is the only thing that helps me out. My advice is to butter up the wife so she will rub them when you need her too.

I've had experienced this quite a few times. I'm really not sure if the cause is the same for everyone, but I was told that one reason why this happens is due to poor blood circulation as well as poor oxygen intake. One way to avoid this is to always breathe properly even when you're sitting and doing something and also to loosen up once in a while if you're in a certain position for a prolonged period of time. You could shake you hands, do some stretching, walk a bit, do these things once in a while before you start feeling those pins and needles.

Its true, but if it occuring most of the time you might as well consult a doctor. Your nerves might have problems or may have a medical condition manifesting as tingling sensation in your extremities.

It's been mentioned to me before about the bad circulation, so you might be right about that. I tend to heavy breathe when I am on mylot, so I guess that should help with the oxygen intake?

If I do find myself in those positions where my fingers or toes start to tingle (and not in a good way, I might add), then I would just try a different position.

They have books on that you know, and they even have pictures that show the positions just in case you can't get the proper visual from the words, although I think that these positions are supposed to drive you (and your partner) crazy in a good way.

Sorry I am late in replying. Yes, some positions are better than others and I am increasingly trying to find ways of staying in a one for longer that doesn't drive me crazy.

I had that same feeling last month. I feel like having those pins and needles in both my hands... for the whole day! Some people says it might be because of the bad circulation or elbows being hit somewhere I didn't actually took notice of.

I think we both suffer from the same symptoms as today's newspapers: poor circulation. What with this and my armpit problems, I am a wreck in the making.

Hi Orson_kart, I have very often experienced this feeling or lack of feeling...If I sit for any number of minutes I don't get the tingling but I certainly get the feeling of not being able to move to freely when I stand up... When walk around the block for excercise, my finger do tingle and my fingers feels swollen...I was told it had something to do with my salt intake...so I have laid off the regular some what... Anyway if it persist, you should just take your little body on over to the doctors and get it checked out,,,better safe than sorry... GOOD NIGHT.....FELL BETTER!!!!

Hi! :) That feeling of tingling sensation on your toes and fingers is due to poor blood circulation. I mean if you are stuck in a certain position in a long period of time, there is the possibility that the circulation of your blood be impede and can cause extreme tingling sensation. if you feel it again, you just have to raised your arms or legs , because the flow of gravity will be able to help you improve your circulation :)

lol I feel numbness, pain and burning sensation in soles of feet, earlier i felt same in palms, all this is due to diabetes neuropathy, the nerves are getting damaged; do you suffer from diabetes?

I swear when I read your post I started singing in my mind, ahahaha!!! XD Until "No, love isn't all around me..." XXDD I can imagine you walking like a chicken on hot bricks. XXDD I've found that it happens when there is lack of movement on a certain part of the body, or if something prevents blood from properly circulating. You just need to keep mobilizing your legs/arms to get the feeling back (despite the tingling). ;)

It started with me years ago, in the end I had parts with no feeling anymore (in my body, mostly legs) and parts that were overreacting (not only fingers/hands, toes and feet but also the arms). At a certain point it became better (I try to ignore it), now I am taking folic acid, I hope it will work. My body doesn't seem to be able to take (all) the necessary vitamines and minerals out of the food. Perhaps this is the case with you too?
