I use wifi on my cell phone for Internet

I don't use the data on my phone to watch TV, use YouTube or use the Internet. The only time I use AT&T's data package is when I am away from home. If you have wifi at home for your computer you can go into settings on your phone to hook it up to wifi. So I keep my data plan down to 200 megabytes and never use them all. Prior to using wifi I used to have a 2000 megabyte plan and now I don't need that much. It keeps my bill down. Do you use wifi to use the Internet on your phone? What are your thoughts about using your home wifi to use your phone for Internet? I love it.

well before this i am too using the phone for the internet because for a student its difficult to arrange the heavy price things, but now i am all able to earn decent amounts for broadband. and talking about the WIFi i use it on the collage area, because their we have good wifi connection and by entering user id and password we are be able to use it free of cost. the user id and password we get through some tricks and thats make the use of internet free.

I do not use the internet from my phone at all. When I go on trips I use my laptop, and plug into a power inverter. I have a data card that I only fill when I am not going to be any place with a wireless connection. I do not have wireless on my telephone bill. I think it is a good idea for some, but for me, what I do works.

We get ours from our phone company too. I have an air card for my mini laptop that I take on trips, and generally keep it for a spare. If the service were to go out for whatever reason, I would still have the mini with the air card.

Well, I am with Sprint, so I have unlimited usage on my phone as in Data, etc. so for me it does not really matter. I know our tenant who rents a room from us uses the WIFI to access the internet on his phone. Having WIFI access is a good thing but most of the time I access the internet more from my home Computer or laptop where there is WIFI when out of town.

Well, I have been with Sprint now just over 2 yrs. I have also been with AT&T and T-Mobile in the past as well. But with the type of phone I have I knew Sprint would give the Best deal plan wise, and since I am always playing many of the games you can download from the Market place having the unlimited is what works Best for me.

Sounds great. My family is on AT&T so we get mobile to mobile... I probably wouldn't change unless my family did. My phone worked from up in lake George NY and I called down here in GA with no problems... I know some phones only let you call locally. I don't know what the difference is.. but one of my acquaintances can only call out locally and receive calls locally.. like the metro area or whatever.

You are a lot more up to date on automation than I am. We watch TV on the TV, have a house phone for calling relatives and use the Internet for email and word for the site I write my articles in. Oh, and my laptop is plugged into the modem - so wifi doesn't really apply.

Hi Cooking! We haven't had a landline in years. My whole life is on my phone. I even put my shopping list on my iPhone.

I use my phone for everything. Today I used it as a calculator for keeping up with prices at the store. If I forget my phone I will use paper and pen for prices. I keep all my things I don't want to forget on my phone. If I ever lost my phone I'd be in trouble! I keep my wifi name and password on it and lots of other stuff.

I write my shopping list down with pencil/pen and paper. Clip the coupons to it and off we go! Those little phones are just too hard to see everything on - plus it is nice to get away from the screen and give your eyes a rest. My siblings have all the gadgets in the world are are always connected to something. I don't need to be that attached to gadgets...just my family!

I've had a smart phone for almost 3 years now. Wifi is so convenient so you don't have to be connected to an Ethernet cord.

Hi Professor. I have also yahoo messenger on my phone. I think though, it doesn't alert me that I get a message unless I go into the messenger app. I love my iPhone for the Internet. It's really convenient.

I only use traffic when I really really need to. Usually I don't need to because everywhere I go I can find some wifi zone to solve my problems. I love wifi at home and I do use it alot. I gave up my data plan. I sometimes use up something like 10-20 mb, every 2-3 months, but it's not worth a monthly plan, so I gave the plans up entirely. I just pay the extra when I really need it.

Over the last month I've only used 12 mb. That's when I use the Internet away from home using my data plan.

In India wifi internet and cell phone internet conenction are costly. I use broadband internet offered by airtel and of course I have wireless facility in my house --more than one person use this internet.

I love that we are wireless. We used to be connected to a wire through a router that went to multiple computers.. now we are wireless with wifi. It's so neat.

I usually try to use wifi connections as much as possible just because it seems to make the internet load a little faster. Then, if wifi isn't available, my phone automatically switches to the 3g network. But sometimes even wifi will be slow and the 3g will actually run faster. I think my data plan has unlimited internet because I've had an iPhone since they first came out and they offered that plan to users. Now, I think you have to buy a certain amount of internet usage but since I've had that old plan, I'm sort of grandfathered in to have the unlimited internet.

Mine does too. If I go away from our wifi connection it will go back to the 3 G network too. I've not used it away from home except one time this month. I've only used 11 megabytes of data for this whole month.

I use to have no restrictions on my internet usage on my phone. I have a plan with Virgin Mobile prepaid. I was paying $35 a month for unlimited internet and unlimited text and then 400 minutes. Then recently Virign mobile made it so theres a limit on the internet. So when ever I am at home or near Wifi I use that instead to save on my plan.
