Major household chores!

I have some major de-cluttering to do around the house and this is my list to work on. I am holding myself more accountable so that I will get it done. 1.) Go through all of my clothing and get rid of what I don't/can't wear. I already did this with my closet, now I need to work on my dresser drawers. 2.) Go through the twins closet & dressers and box up the clothes they have out-grown. 3.) Go through the toddler's closet & dresser and box up the clothes he has out-grown. 4.) Go through the boxes of clothes that I have sorted out that the boys can possibly wear now, wash, dry and put them in the closet/dressers. 5.) Organize the guest bathroom closet. (small chore) 6.) Organize the master bathroom closet. (big chore) 7.) Re-organize the food pantry. (medium chore) 8.) Clean & re-organize the attic. I already started on this list. I went through the toddler's closet last night and took out all of the clothes that he can no longer wear. I stored them in a clearly labeled box (later on the twins will be able to wear them). They are just waiting to be taken to the attic. I have also started this with the twins. They are growing so fast that it is hard to keep up with this chore. I am working on it. Do you have any major household chores that you need done?

Oh goodness..there is always some major household chores that need to be done. My current major household chore is reorganizing and redecorating my oldest daughter's old room. She has moved out recently. I also need to reorganize some stuff in the basement.

A nursery is good. Do you know if it is a boy or a girl yet?

Jen I feel the same way. Always something to do. Never ending jobs. What will you be doing with your daughter's room? Guest bedroom or something nice for yourself? Our basement is empty, its the attic I need to conquer. Good luck with yours.

I have no idea at this point. She is going to have a baby so it might be a nursery just in case the baby comes over.

Good to hear from you jillhill. Organization is the key. I want to be able to get to the items that we have without having to search for them. I want to know exactly where things are and I want them to be in an orderly fashion when I go to get them.

Hi Shelly, My family will be moving to another place by the end of March, and this early I've been trying to sort out things that need to be brought with us, and those that may be thrown away. I didn't realize we've had so much clutter in the house. I've scheduled a weekly cleaning of the areas around the house and have started putting in boxes those that we will take with us to the new place. I've placed all the things to be thrown away in trash bags so it's ready for pick up when the garbage truck arrives. Hopefully I'll be done a week before the schedule and still have time to relax.

Oh I feel your pain. I have moved 3 times within the past 5 years and it has been a pain each and every time. I have always hated it. You never know how much junk you have until you go to move it all. Good luck with the move.

Sounds as if you have a regular routine going. That is great. A routine is best I believe. Keep it going.

I do the clothes swaps during season changes and then as I go about the year doing laundry. The kids' closets have prettified diaper boxes (wrapped with paper and labeled with pretty labels). They have boxes for "too big" and "too small". If they wear something that I decide is too small, then I toss it in the "too small" box before I forget about it and they have a chance to wear it again. When they start running low on clothes that fit, I bring down the "too big" box and we have a fashion show. I keep my bathrooms tidy, but its my husband I have to keep an eye on. I went through his side not too long ago and found stuff that expired YEARS ago!! I also have to keep everything tidy and locked up in bins because of the curious toddler who loves cabinets and little bottles that make shaking noises! As for the attic... I'm just glad I don't have one of those. I have a cubby in my garage that I have to look at every time I use my car, so I try to keep it as organized as possible.

Thanks for stopping by. I use the diaper box process too but I don't paper mine. I wish I was artistic like that but I am not. I also keep the too small, too large boxes in the closet except I lave them by sizes. The too small sizes is 0 to 3 and the too large is 6 o 9. I have room in the twins closet to do this but not in the toddlers closet. All of his clothes I keep in the spare bedroom or in the attic. I am ashamed to say it but our master bathroom closet right now is in shambles. I always get the free samples and such and they are so disorganized right now. I had everything so nice and pretty at one point but it has run askew lately. I really need to get busy on it.

I need to get rid of a lot of things, and reorganize storage spaces. I need to buy more storage containers as well. One of the things I should do is go through all the cleaning products I have and either use them up or discard them. I think that would help me a lot. I still have hopes of losing that one inch that keeps my pants from buttoning up. I have some nice clothes that I need to be able to wear for work. I need to get some sewing done for the grand girls. I have no organizing to do for kids. It sounds as if you have your hands full.

I need more laundry baskets. I am using diaper boxes for the kids clothes storage right now. That is working for me. I have several boxes of clothes that I would like to get back into. When I worked in the mental health field I made good money and I spent alot of it on clothes... now if I could get back into them I would be set! Thanks for stopping by.

I wish you the best. I will pray for you. I do hope that you don't get sick again. Moving is so aggravating. I have moved several times in the last 5 years. It is a pain.

Dear Shellyann, Your list of chores sounds familiar, lol. In my family, Saturday is the day we spend doing major household chores. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for stopping by. I did it that way for a while but it just gets so messy during the week and then takes into the time I would rather spend doing something else on a Saturday.

Seems like I just answered this :) I have a lot of stuff that I want to go through when I get back home. I am tired of having so much packed away and not getting used. Someone else might as well get some good from it.

Since my children grew up and got lives of their own I have very little to do at the home space. And i love it,,,,, and I love that my children are independent and healthy and happy. i remember doing what you are doing, I am happy I don't have to do that anymore...
