Do you save your email and texts after reading ?

Personally I delete all my texts and emails after reading them because I dont want my phone and computer cluttered up with old email and texts. After conversing with many of my female friends ,I realise that there is the practice of saving emails and texts for sentimental value. It was quite a revelation to learn that my female friends would later read these email and get caught up in the reverie. So do you lack the sentimental bone like I do and delete emails and texts or do you save them for future reference?

I use my browser to check emails so I don't have the problem to have my computer fulled by messages, and I can read again all the mails received. It's a different situation about sms. I usually cancel sms I received, but I only save on the mobile phone all the sms my girlfriend sent me.

Ok I gues you are more sentimental than I am .I must admit that its a nice touch to save some texts that really touch us cause it makes us feel good when we read it again

Yes, I also save them cause I live a long distance love story and I phisically meet my girlfriend only few times per year. That's why I save all the texts I receive.

I wouldn't call it sentimental, but I would call it laziness. I often times keep texts in my phone for... months on end, until my phone starts slowing down so much that I'm forced to clear up some memory. It's amazing how many texts and emails you can accumulate in a month's time. It usually takes me like an hour to sift through the 'important' and 'unimportant' texts and emails. Plus any that I think are funny I tend to save and reflect upon later. OK, I guess that part is a little sentimental. But rarely do I get such texts that I intend on keeping.

I am a female and I too save some of my emails and text messages for future reference. I believe we, as women, like to go back and be reminded of the sweet things someone may say to us. I also keep others as sources of information.

I do read my emails and delete however if there is a link that looks good or any information and I want to keep, it's stored on the computer. I don't have text messaging on my phone, on purpose. Our kids send texts and I get them as emails. If I'm not home, they will call.

I will never delete my emails unless my inbox gets completely full, because you never know when you're going to need them again. I have some emails from about 10 years ago, and I love it because it means that I am able to travel back in time and look at just how I was back then. Some of the conversations that I had with my friends back then are very funny and it is fantastic to go back through things and you can remember things that you had forgotten about before. I delete things if they're spam though because they're not important.

Just like you, I also delete all my emails and text messages. However, I do save a few emails which I may need for future reference but I delete them as soon as I don't need hem anymore. I don't see the need to keep them if they are no longer useful to me. I don't think you or me lack a sentimental bone to delete our emails and sms like this but I guess we just don't need them for references to remember the sentimental value attached to them...

It depends. If it's information that I can look back on for future reference, then yes, I do. I also tend to keep receipts as well. When it comes to texts, I usually delete those, unless it is certain info from my boss, like the days she wants me to come in, then I might hold on to them until they aren't needed any longer. I sometimes hold on to coupons I happen to get through text...at least until they expire. After they do I'll go ahead and delete them as well. Happy mylotting!

I don't keep any emails in my computer. Since today the email account provides us a big space to store emails. Even though, I don't store many emails in my email box yet. I just keep those important emails and put them into the right folders. So it is easy for me to sort them out. I love China

It really depends on the email. In some cases, I keep them because they contain information I might need to access in the future. If it is about a meeting to take place, I will keep it at least until after the date so I can verify I got it right. In some cases, I get rid of them as soon as I see them because they don't contain anything important to me. It is not so much the sentimental value of the communication as wanting to make sure I don't forget something important.

I usually save my emails and my text messages at first. When there is no more space left or when I just feel like cleaning up I go through all of my emails and all of my text messages and I delete almost everything. I don't like to delete emails and text messages right away in case I need some information from one of the messages, but when the messages are old I don't hesitate to delete them. I keep some of the old handwritten letters that I have received in the past, but I don't keep emails or text messages the same way, because I would run out of space if I did that.

Hi Ronny, i do received quite a lot texts and emails occasionally. But, i saved only the important ones in my phone and computer. That's why, i occasionally check and delete off the unwanted ones, to make sure that they don't occupied too much of my space. I do daily checking and deleting, whenever i am free. At least, i always left ample space in my phone and computer for saving important details. Have a nice day...

Unless it is an important message that I'll need in the not so distant future, I will most likely delete my e-mail, no exception to say the very least. There are just going to be a lot of times where about most of my e-mail gets deleted right away. Sentimental value has very little worth to me when I am trying to clean up my e-mail box. Of course, I think that I might have a few e-mails that I might have saved overt he years. If it is really important, it is going to be saved. If it is not and most times, it is really not, I am just going to be just delete it without a second thought. Then again, e-mails tend to be something that is a lot of fluff most of the time for me.

Yes, I still save some of my emails and text. It depends on what kind of emails and text. If they're just a simple greeting, or if they're just a quotes. I had been keeping some of my emails way back year 2008.

Well, I should delete my Texts, and sometimes my Email more often than I do just because of all the storage space it uses up by not doing so, but sometimes I feel it is of something important and worth holding onto a little longer as well. But I do find from time to time going and deleting just to make room for New.

Once in awhile I will save emails usually just because it is something important that I need to remember so saving the email is easier then writing down all that information. But usually I delete as many as I can to free up space. My mothers email is so clogged up because she has like 800 emails on there. She really needs to go through and delete what is unnecessary.

I delete everything . The only text or emails i save are the important ones. Such as proof of payment on cell phone or something to use as reference later.

Hey Ron I too am a sentimental text holder. There are some that are worth keeping but after a while when someone else might send the same exact one then it delete time. Some of the thoughts are expressed in such a creative manner that you tend to hold on to its uniqueness until something else takes up your fascination.

For me, I have to say that it really depends on who sent me the message. For example, I text back and forth with my best friend all the time and I don't see any reason at all to keep the messages that we share with each other. However, there are other friends of mine that I only hear from occasionally and I will save the messages and emails that those people send to me only because you never know when it might be the last time that you hear from them.

If its important I don't delete it. Actually if its not a spam email I don't delete it. why delete if if you can save it right? In texts I do delete text simply because sometimes other persons can directly or indirectly take your cellphone and read your sms.
