Called Liberty Tax

I called Liberty Tax today to see if they had any slots available for the statue of liberty people, they said they did. So this Saturday before work I am going to go up there, apply and get trained. I need some more hours because I've been down to fifeteen at the job I have now and that doesn't really cut it. This is just temporary work until I can find another job, well it's supplemental. The liberty tax thing will only be until tax season is over anyway.
Not sure how the hours work for the statue of liberty people but my friend had done it awhile back and I forget how many hours she stood out there. Since your standing outside I can't imagine it'd be more then say four hours at a time but then I remember my friend getting a break so I guess it was more then that. I bet the payrate is pretty okay too, which is fine by me!
I'll just have to go up there on Saturday before work, I don't think I work until later that day anyway, I think around four, and I have to be there at noon.

Salvation Army bell ringers stand out for 4-6 hours. Here they can't stand in the foyer either. They have to be outside the building. Good luck at your liberty job.

Yup! It's only five minutes away too, and across the street from one of my favorite restaurants.

I hope you can get a part-time job to help suppliment the income. I am sorry that your current job has cut your hours back especially when you are trying to pay off bills and buy your moped. I am making money online, but it is not enough. I am learning a new skil so I can try to sell my crafts online. I really hope that you get the job. Good luck.

Now it's a car actually, the moped I have $200 left to pay on and then it's mine. I won't be using it though, unless on a dirt road out in the country I guess. SO now it's a car I am trying to get, and even so the $120 a week just is pity and not many hours I feel like I don't accomplish anything.

Luckily the job I have didn't make any promises, but they have just changed a lot. I'm not the only one getting crap poor hours, and they're hiring new people. I'm not saying they are trying to replace the cashiers, but they are almost going to have to do that because a lot of people there are talking about finding other jobs, and this isn't just in my department.

I know most people think it is great to have any job at this point, but it is hard when your job cuts back on hours. I know Randy was promised to be full time at the last job he had until he got laid off. I hate it when employers make promises and do not keep them. I hope you can find a car that you can afford.

So,how did this turn out for you. Did you get to go in and train for this supplemental job?

It depends. I was a Statue of Liberty last year and I worked as much as I could. I would work on saturdays for 8 hours while my boyfriend did taxes, other days I worked for four hours. There were times when I would go inside get something to drink or eat, or sit down for a little while. I used to have my ipod with me and I danced around. and it helped keep me from being bored. I also talked to the people in the neighborhood. There was a "Litterbug" one day and I ended up getting my picture taken with it. XD

How much did you get paid? I need the extra money so I'm not going to care what my rate of pay is. Right now I make $7.50 at the cashier job I have. Liberty Tax will be a little "aside" and if I'm free that day I don't mind working 8 hours, heck I don't really mind going into liberty tax then going to HT right after for all that matters.

I'm glad you found a seasonal job to apply at to help out with your lack of hours at the time. I only work about 10-15 a week myself, I'd like to work more but that's the joys of having small kids at home still. Every little bit helps right?
GL I hope you get the job and have fun waving at people on the roadways!

Yes, I just happened to think about it last night and decided I would call. I only get fifeteen hours which averages about $120.00 per week and that's not enough to get by on at all.

Actually, you simply need to file a tax return on liberty tax right? I was kind of confused after reading your discussion here. I thought that you are applying for a job instead of filing a tax return on your 2011. I hope that you get your luck and won't have to wait around there too long.
