Ya, this perfect person you have all learned to love and enjoy.
Me.
I did a dumb thing. I decided since my co-pay for my anti-depressant is large right now because I have a deductible(Grrr!!)and so I have to pay nearly five times more than usual that I would forgoe getting them until next month and use the money I had set aside for groceries instead. DUMB! I was diagnosed with severe depression with panic attacks back in 2006. Ofcourse I have had this nearly all my life but not as bad. My granddaughter changed all that when she hit me and nearly threw me down the stairs. So the meds help with panic attacks and keep my emotion and upset down to a minimum. Tonight I was watching a show and there was a touching moment and the tear ducts let lose. So now I am Emotional Jane and feeling myself go down the black hole of depression
. Eleven long and drawn out days to wait before I can get them. STUPID. When was the last time you did a dumb thing? Come on. Fess up.

Hi Celtic,
I do dumb things on a daily basis. Your situation wasn't even really "dumb" but more a situation...a circumstance that you had limited choices in. You also had to eat. If you got the meds and didn't buy groceries, you'd be wondering what the point in the anti deppressants was if you are miserable and hungry. I do things like set the microwave and forget to put the pizza in...DUMB!

Well, I do too. But, I mean this was really dumb. I just won't let my grandson do without milk and such.

SOunds like me. I have been waking up anywhere from 3p. to 5p. and go to bed anywhere from 4a. to 1o or 11. Ugh! And the doctor wanted me to take a sleep apnea test. Just give me knock out drops and I'll be fine. Breathing is not the problem! These damned kids are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't think what you are doing can be call dumb... it is a difficult situation where you have to make a decision between food and your medication... i might do the same thing if i am in your position as i have to survive as well... i hope you will be alright until you are able to get your medication... take care and have a nice day...

The issue of meds or food wasn't the dumb thing. Going off my meds was. Just have to try to keep it together.

Yikes, and grand daughter is living with you guys now. Hang on friend. The last, most recent dumb thing I did was to give three units of platelets ( a great thing) and then try to shop, etc. all day like it was nothing. I locked my keys in the car, and it was out of town from home. Hubby was in the same town, but was working, and he had spare keys. I spent an hour or two sitting in the food court at Sam's Club, resting, with my groceries.

Yep, she sure is! I just had a yelling match with her. She told us she would do this, this and this when she moved in. And has done nothing. She cooks and cleans and that is nice but not a big amount of help. I haven't given platelets or such for years. They told me my veins were such that I couldn't.

depression and panic attacks suck. I have been there and hated it so much. Today i feel as if im having a panic attack and have tot ake deep breths and it is no fun because sometimes you try to take a deep beath but nothing happens so i understand where you are coming from with that situation. When i go home tonight it might help me but i hope it really does and even if i have to take medicine i dont mind that at all. I got a panic attack today i believe because my boss was yelling so mean to his wife this morning and i was thinking about leaving work and returning later when maybe he had left but it was ok he left pretty much after that happened. I hope you can get your medicine soon its not fun without it and i know that from my self.

Well now I have found this ..
I'M HERE FOR YOU... but I suppose I have now made you feel twice as bad!!LOL Sorry
Sorry you are feeling so bad and had to make a tough choice of what to buy.
As you konw I do many dumb things in my life, I think one of recent ones was cooking in the oven and turning the wrong oven on, as we have a small oven and a large oven.
Main dumb thing I do on a regular basis (apart from talking to you, only joking, honest) is turning the wrong rings on the cooker and wondering why the saucepans aren't getting hot and starting to bubble

I do dumb things all the time. I don't think that choosing between groceries and medicine is dumb though. It is a hard choice that you had to make and you shouldn't have had to make it.
There are pharmacies here that offer anti depressants for four dollars..they are generic of course...but it might be something to look in to. There are medicines that are much cheaper for me to buy than to let my insurance pay for.
I am sorry that you have to do so long without your medicine.

Hard choice to be sure. Didn't realize how quickly the meds goes out of my body. I hadn't had a emotional upset(over something trivial and silly) for a long time. Sort of freaked me out. I already have a cheap type of a more expensive med. It is the only one that I have found that really healps me any. Does blubbering idiot ring any bells?
@stowyk -Yes, have done this. No money now. Thanks.
