Shopping for baby girls is easier than shopping for baby boys

I spent two hours trying to shop for my three year old grandson but could not find anything suitable for him. Every where I could just see the right toys for girls like dolls and teddy bears which my grandson does not like. I finally ended up coming home empty handed. May have to go again this evening and cannot figure out what to buy. Looking out for some good ideas of what to buy on the internet and just cannot decide. Just hope I end up buying something.

There do seem to be more clothes geared toward girls around here but I haven't had any difficulty finding toys for my son. Then again, he also likes teddy bears and other stuffed animals, but I was at a bookstore and they had lots of truck, train, and tractor books which he was interested in. He also finds toys like musical instruments and balls fun.

I have not tried giving him musical instruments. That does seem to be a good idea. May be I should buy some nice musical instrument and gift him.I generally dont buy cars and trucks because he dismantles it within five minutes of getting it in his hand.

Hi, Bey- blade toys or bablets are more common and favorites for my son when it comes to toys. This is available for all ages i.e. 1-3, 4-7, etc age group. Or it is the educational games. When my son was around 3-4, he played a lot of house building with plastic blocks, alphabets/numeric blocks also kept him busy. A cricket bat & ball was all time favorite gift of his and even today he loves it. Also the ‘doctor set’ was another time pass and these days they have remote control cars etc.

Bey blade toys are not available near my house. May have to go to the shopping mall for that. Lets see what I get there. My grandson is an expert in dismantling toys and have to get something that can be joined again.

I used to have the same problem till I had boys of my own...LOL. Puzzles, blocks, bat/ball, books, balls,cars/vehicles,etc. are stuff that boys will like. All the best!

Most of the toys given to him are dismantled in exactly five minutes if not lesser. That is the reason it is difficult to choose. Had bought two cars for him last week. By the time he walked from the kitchen to the hall one car was already dismantled. It took him exactly six minutes that day to dismantle both the cars and discard them.

Now, baby things are always too cute for boys, while almost all of them can be suitable for girls. If a baby girl wears there clothes, the clothes can make them very lovely, but if a boy wears them, it is a little strange. So it is much easier to choose something for a baby girl.

Yes there are a lot of cute toys and clothes available in the market for girls but not that many options for boys. It is really very difficult making choices while shopping for boys ... both big and small.

Hi i dont doubt that many baby girl acessories is more interesting, colorful and eye catching than the boy maybe since they are baby..a girl must look pretty and fascinating than boys pick the simple one for your baby.. Though it is not charming at least u can save more to buy these Non-fancy things...lol

I was looking out for something useful or educative for him. But could not find anything like that around. And dont want to buy books just now because he just tears them up and do not want to encourage that habit. He only spares the book if he is told that that it is mine.

Hi Mayka, indeed shopping for baby boy item is not an easy task. I had gone through that process, when i born my son and wanted to shop toy and clothes for him. I discovered that majorities clothing sold in the department stores are mainly for baby girls. Because the colors seems more on the softer side, like pink color. Even the toys mostly are for girls.

The clothes for boys in shops did not look too interesting. Why do the manufacturers not think of the poor boys!!!

I know! There is always a ton of stuff for little girls. I remember when my son was little, he was my first child, and I went to the store. Half the department store would be for little girls and only an aisle for boys It can be aggravating!

Nearly a year after starting this discussion I am still as confused as to what to buy for boys. Varieties for girls are easily aviailable.

If I have limited budget, buying for boys are really a challenging for me. But If I have enough money to buy. It is so easy to decide which item/gift to buy.

My younger love LEGO or anything related to building something, toy cars, ultraman and balls. Balls are the best pick as it is my two years old nephew favourite toy as well. Apart from that, they seem to love Angry Birds right now. Anything related to it is a good choice.

I always have to buy something for my brother's son when shopping for my daughter. I takes up so much of my time. Boys' stuff is so dull.

I tried visiting a few shops yesterday but ended up coming empty handed because I could not decide on any gift.
