Does look really matter??

Will looks be the criteria for you to make friends/BF/GF and any kind of relation. Or will it be some other quality??
For me its the personality and the attitude of the person that is more important. Looks come at the end.
What do you think??

Unfortunately the first impression you get when you meet someone is their looks. Are they attractive or not? Later on when you get to know them, then it becomes less important and personality takes over. I saw a fascinating programme about this recently and basically what they said was that we choose our partners for their genes, so that any children produced can have "good genes". I chose my life partner because of his amazing sense of humour. I think that is one of the most important things. Looks should not be important - but they are in the beginning.

Hi feralwoman,
i do agree with you that first impression counts, however, first impression may not be just restricted only to looks isn't it? like for your life partner, u choose him because of his amazing sense of humour, and that i believe is the first impression that he has given to you isn't it?
my own personal views on whether looks are important is that, looks are secondary, what is more important is the communication between both parties and the heart.
looks can grow on you don't you think so?

I think looks are somewhat important in my decision to approach a person but not only the way they as a person looks but the way they carry thier self, they way they dress, attitdue etc. If a person is outgoing and takes pride in thier looks I am more likely to find them approachable then somebody who has a bad attitude and doesn't care how they look. In the end though its more personality that decides if I stay friends or in a relationship with a person.

Looks are an important factor for me. I'd have to be able to tell the guy I'm with that I find him attractive. Letting him know that is very important to me. Admit it, having to hear "but it's what's on the inside that counts" totally sucks, doesn't it?

no,i don't think so.maybe a goodlooking can give others a fice impression,but that's not mean look matters everything.i think the inside is more important than the look.people should understand others by communicating day by day not just the good face.

according to me look does'nt matter for the person to be one's GF/BF. what really matters is the character.
