Different way to look at it...

I love Mylot for one reason above all else. The differences that come out culturally. We have people on here from all sorts of backgrounds, cultures and religions. It is so interesting to me to read what some people write from places far from where I live. Here no one thinks different of women or married people going to college while in other countries others are surprised by this. I see people who never leave home and those who left early in life. I find it all very curious

Very curious? I find it very cool indeed. FOr the most part if I want an opinion that will come from several directions and tell me like it is I can come here and get it. Great place to be a part of.

It is cool and I am ever so curious to read what people from a whole other culture think of what I say

I agree with you. I also love and enjoy the discussions in mylot because one can learn from others. It's like having a group of friends sharing their knowledge and views in life. The discussions are really worthwhile.

People seemed to be so truthful here that express their true feelings, share real situations and trusted mylotters for their views and opinions. One more thing we're being paid while we write, though not that big but it doesn't matter. It inspires us somehow.

It can be very surprising how much people will say while anonymous.

MyLot really gives us a great view of what life is to people from other parts of the world. And it still amazes me to this day that we somehow live the same lives. I mean, we have similar household and work problems. We feel the crunch of the worsening economy, the rising prices of gasoline and commodities. There were a couple of times when I was discussing with someone whom I thought is from my country since we really share the same experiences, and then I get totally surprised to find out the person lives halfway around the world from where I'm from.

For myLot to be what it is today, it is the result of the good contributions that provided by the myLot members. It shows the importance of quality responses as well as good forum etiquette. No one will like to read one or two liner responses. Say more with a good explanation of your point so other readers can understand why you think that way. Be friendly and accommodating to fellow members. Don't be rude and sarcastic in your replies. I am also fascinated by the views of members whose culture and background are very different to me. It opens my eyes and it really makes me feel that we all are all a citizen of the earth. Although we stay far apart, we are just humans with the same needs and wants. We even have the same problems in our society, our family and our life. myLot is the best platform for us to interact. Let's maintain it as it is.

When I started out on Mylot and was here all the time, it was interesting to read about different cultures and educate others about my own. But now I am hardly here and when I am, it's a quick respond to discussions and leave :-( I do not get the time to really go through the discussions esp. those of my friends and form a mental picture of who they are.
