Hi myLotters, Do any of you ever wonder, sometimes when you go to shop for some clothes, they look extremely handsome but when you put it on, you found those clothes not as good as they look. I encountered a situation where I saw a plaid shirt that is perfect, yet when I tried it, I felt that it didn't turn up as I thought, and this left me wondering... Do you know why?

Yeah it is really deceiving in our eyes especially when you see it wear by mannequin that looks so nice and fit.I usually wear and see it in the fitting room to avoid regret in the end.

One time, I saw a very sexy blouse worn by a very sexy mannequin, but I was disappointed when I found out that there's a clip at the back of the dress to make it look more appealing. When I tried the blouse, I was more disappointed. It's larger than I thought.

It is funny that you say that, about two months ago I bought a top and I thought it would be cute to wear, but I currently hate it. I think there's a spark when you see something that you like, but you never going into the process of thinking about wearing it or trying it out. For years I've never tried on clothes, but ever since that incident I plan on trying on things before I buy them. I also have pictures of my clothes so that if I buy accessories or shoes, they fit into the picture so I never make that mistake ever again. Sorry about the plaid shirt though, I usually don't have a problem with plaid, but then again everyone has different styles that fit them. Sometimes there are clothing articles that will never fit into our style.

Hi 7chords, I do feel funny indeed. Jaja.. Sometimes I think the clothes that display is tailored just to put on the stupid manequin and attract people. It is not easy to get clothes that fit our body size, comfortable and also look good when wearing. We have to try and try before decide to buy. By the way, I like plaid shirt. :D

This happens to me a lot! This is why I can't shop online. I HAVE to shop in person so I can try these things on. Jeans, shirts, sweaters, etc. Everything looks cute on a mannequin that has a totally different body than your own! We just have to find what flatters us. Most clothes seem to be designed for ONE type of body that I dont' think anyone realistically has.

Well, maybe you just tried out the wrong size. I went about the same thing. I thought a pair of pants would look good on me since it looked great on a manequin, but it turned out I was wrong. The manequin pulled out the outfit better than me. When I tried a larger size, though, it turned out fine so I bought it.

There are just times where things do in fact look much better on the store shelves then they do on the actual person. There have been many clothes where in theory they should fit me perfectly. But however, they just much better looking not on us. Clothes might look nice and they perhaps really just are nice on other people. But there are just times where some clothes, the best looking are not the best looking for my benefit. That really is just the thing to say the very least. There are just just clothes that are just going to look the absolute best but be the absolute worst for me. I just really need to find the clothes that just fit me, as opposed to how they look. There tends to be a lot of deception as it pertains to the nicest looking clothes. Sometimes, clothes are great and other times they might look great but they are just less of a sight to behold.

hi, I have experienced a lot of this situations before with some stuffs, I mean not only for dresses or clothes but regarding also with accessories, bags, shoes and some other things. I was so pleased to see the manikin dress-up or accessorized, but when I tried to fit in, unfortunately those stuff is not appropriate or coordinated with my physical body curves and complexion and I wonder why, maybe because the manikin or the picture is not moving that's why We are not able to see some lines, cuts, and design on a different angle.

Hi Lucas816, such situation did happen to me as well. It's really indecent and I would feel uncomfortable too when putting on the so-called handsome clothes I had newly bought . There are still some hanging in the wardrobe since the first time I had tried to wear them. Might be we concentrate solely on the attractive clothes in the fitting room Happy posting

I've been in this situation many more times, when I look a clothes from far distance I thought it was the perfect clothes that I'm searching for but when I try it on me, it doesn't fit my body or the clothes itself is made of low quality. I am petite with a very slim body so it makes me hard to find a clothes that will fit.

It it because majority of clothes don't look the same in the hanger or on a mannequin as it will look on a person. I always had the same problem for a while but working as a stylish, a learned that I always had to wear the clothes before buying it and we should not settle for the clothes to fit and look just 'ok'. The clothes should be worth the price.

Yes. They're deceiving my eyes. Well, one of the reasons is those clothes are worn by mannequins who have great body built, good height (and weight) , and pretty faces, that's why the clothes look prettier.

Yes its funny that happened to me many times and I keep doing the same mistakes bringing or buying chothes which dont fit me at all when i try them at home. Sometimes I buy in the market place and they dont have a fitting room , so , I take the risk and buy them , but , I think I wont do it anymore , I hope i consider it well this time. I have a pair of jeans which dont fit well on me and 3 tops that dont look good to tight and the other one is in bad condition couldnt wear it. I do that sometimes because they are on very low price or they look good to my eyes, I dont know why you do it... have a good day my friend

It has happened to me too. I buy something but when I reach home and after wearing it like only once, I just do not like it anymore. I think it also applies when it comes to buying clothes that we tend to make the wrong decision/judgement and end up buying the wrong thing.
