Wrong medicine in eyes

India
March 29, 2012 6:01am CST
As I have said I left Mumbai on 21st march morning by train, in a 2 tier air-conditioned coach. As one of my eyes is developing cataract, I have been advised to use ‘CINERARIA MARITIMA’ eye drops before I sleep at night or nap in noon. This eye drop is a ‘distilled water’ based homoeopathic preparation, made in Germany. In noon I wanted to take a nap and as usual put 2 drops in my left eye first, I was surprised when I felt severe burning sensation in eye, I ran to the wash basin and splashed water on the eye till that burning sensation was gone. On checking I realized my mistake; the drops I instilled were another homoeopathic preparation that is ‘alcohol-based’, this I take in water daily by mouth. The alcohol caused the burning sensation. Have you any similar experience during travel or at home? Do you use eye drops or any homoeopathic medicines? Please share your views and comment on this. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . 29/03/2012

Ouch! I bet that hurt. I use eye solution occasionally. I have bad allergies and wake up with my eye lids sealed shut with mucos. Ugh! Doctor just said to use the solution. If I have to go any where very early I have to wake up extra early so I can get my eyes clear so I can drive. Pathetic huh?

Hi, You must be careful while using drops in our eyes. Eye is very delicate organ. One small mistake can damage our eye. You are lucky that your eye has no hurt and it is ok. I don't have any experience like this. Be careful and take care.

I haven't done this to myself but I know of someone who accidently put super glue in their eyes because the bottles were very similar. they were very fortunate that it did not damage the eye. It was very scary for them though because it could have caused major damage! I would like to learn more about homeopathic medicines myself.

I'm so sorry that happened to you of ALL people! Several men have told me they make sure to keep the hemorrhoid cream any other place other than near the toothpaste?! LOL. Can you say, "PUCKER"? I find that funny! Sorry you had that happen to you though.

hi, actually that situation never happen to me because every time that i will put some medicine in my eyes i will read first the medication procedure or the ingredients so that i can avoid to harm my eyes.because our eyes can easily irritate if we dont read carefully the medicine.
