What would we do without Mylot? I went to make an appointment with my counselor and found she is no longer an intern. Since January they have changed their program also. I used to be able to see an intern counselor for free at the churches in the community because of my low income. Not any longer. THey are now charging. So I can't afford a counselor. Not for awhile any way. Bills I have to pay leave no extra. My doctor wants me to see one on going and I wonder what she will say when I tell her I can't go anylonger. When I get stressed out and panic stricken I will be on here more guys so bare up. (Is that even funny? SOrt of sad I am thinking) Ah, what would we do without Mylot? Have you thought about it? Financially it is a plus but for those of us that use it as a sounding board-What would we do?

Hi Cel! Mylotting is one of the best substitute for a counselor. Here we get different opinions, based on different experience from all across the Glob. Some of the opinions and suggestions are really worth considering and implementing. Without mylot that would not have been possible. Whenever I started a post mentioning a problem I got wonderful responses/suggestions and I could find the way to come with the problem.

Yes, different lotters view our problem from different angles, therefore, we get varied views on the same issue.

hi there celticeagle, with reference to your concern, it is saddening to know that you cannot able to get counseling free of charge. that, you must pay now the service or else, you cannot avail one. well, perhaps, you can still look for more ways on how to be counsel and how to get it a free way. maybe try to read the Bible. learn how to meditate and talk to our Lord God Almighty by means of prayers. although we cannot see God personally, for sure, He listens to our prayers. aside from that, He can hear the cries of our heart. and thru prayers, you can also request from Him, if He can grant and provide you again to have a counseling service which you can avail for free. just have the faith although it is a small. hence, as the good book says, if you have the faith, even it is as little as a mustard seed, then go and believe that your prayer will be granted.

Having MyLot during the stressful times has been very important to me. Maybe your doctor can suggest some way for you to get counseling. Meanwhile, just be here and talk. Someone is sure to respond. You can get your pick of many different opinions. I love being able to come here and talk a bit.

Ibave made so derfil friends on Mylot and I treasure their friendship and support. Especially now she. I am in a challenging situation in my life. I agree with you completely, myLot has given us a place where we can be completely honest about what we thing and feel. The best thing is that we sometimes get advice that works! Best of all, it comes without some string attached. About your need to be counseled, I am sorry that you need to pay for it now, but then you could talk to the pastor about your concerns, they are really good at giving some down to earth advice. That is a skill they develop being in contact with the celestial being. This may not be an exact replacement of counseling, but I am sure you will find something that you can work on. And then we are all there for you, dear celtic, we will flood you with love. Take care!

It is sad that you cannot have a free counseling now. It does help to share your problems and pressures in life. All you need is a person who will hear you. Doing mylot is great, you get people's opinion and advises for free: p I do hope your financial status improves, its bad to always worry about money.

It doesn't just take someone that will listen. It takes someone that will give me a honest answer, not just what they think I want to hear. Mylot is great! It is bad to always worry about money. Gets very old.

Personally even though there are times I am sure people get tired of me always talking about my problems, so sometimes lately I do not share like I want, it is easier to come here than find someone we can afford that may not always understand. It is Sad that everyone always has to think about money anymore, and quit offering so much for the Disabled who might not be able to afford much, but really glad we all have a place like here to come too.

I never tire of hearing how you are doing. WHat I tire of though is not always being able to respond like I feel I should. If I have been out doing something I am so tired I can't always respond even though I read it.

I use it as a sounding board from time to time but knowing that I earn from it eases my stress a litlte, so I don't much talk about how I am feeling. I used to go to counselors when I had medicaid, I don't anymore and don't really need them. I figure out ways to help myself cope through whatever I am going through. Mylot does help.

I have ways to help myself too BUT when I get real bad I need a person who isn't emotionally involved to help me balance things out. I also need to know what I have decided to do is a good decision. THat sort of thing.

Use it girl! This is precisely one of the reasons why I was freaking out over the mental institutions closing up. It might not be the reason why there have been changes made to the program but it still means that people who needs that shoulder is not going to get it. I think that this is a place where we can meet, vent, chat, share, and anything else we feel like doing. It is a good place. I have had to be away for a while now and I just hate it. I try to get on here and there but I don't think I will ever get caught up on discussions at this point...lol. I've also missed out on a lot of things with my friends. Talk to you later.

Hello. I always look forward to your take on things. Yes, this country is getting pretty messed up. I'm seeing it with my insurance and medical. With my medical problems it is beginning to get alittle scarey. My doctor is not going to be happy when she learns I can't see a counselor any longer. I wonder if medicare pays for Yoga classes. My emotional stability is slipping. lol?

I find by being on here it is easy to chat about all your problems, as there is no one that will say told you so, be nasty, the bonus is no one to spread what you say about to other people. I do feel that there are times that I just want to get things off my chest and where better to do it than here, with people that do not judge as well as people that you will never meet. I can not get out and find it hard not having people that i can see like i use to, so this is a great place, also if i get tired i get to lay down or when i am in pain, as no one to stop you from doing it. Hope you are feeling happier celticeagle.

I"m sorry that you're no longer able to get the counseling you need. Hopefully things will change soon, and you'll be able to go back. Something similar happens at my school with counseling. They give it to you for free for a certain amount of appointments, but after you use those up, you can't keep coming. They refer you to outside counseling, which is expensive and totally unaffordable for me, a student. Forums/discussion boards like Mylot are a good way of filling that space - getting a place to bounce feelings and ideas and get unbiased opinions. I'd like to think Mylot helps keep me sane! haha

I'm sorry, I hope you will be able to see a counselor again soon. I need one of those too but sadly cannot afford anyone here... Without mylot I would be sad an awful lot. Its so nice to have my friends here whenever I need y'all! The money for me is just another plus. =) But the friends and advice here are priceless.

I'm really upset that you can't see someone to talk to. In the area we live our NHS, if you remember we've talked about it before, has started a scheme where you can talk to a counsellor for about 12 sessions which helps but then you have to have a gap of about 4 months. The stressful situation you've just been through, along with the enforced layoff of meds. has not helped. Have you got a relaxation CD or similar, most essential. Exercise is helpful if you can manage it, can't remember how mobile you are or if we've even talked about it. Hope our conversations elsewhere help.

When I was working I had insurance that would pay for 10-12 counseling sessions. I do have a bunch of relaxation tapes(Whales, flutes, etc.). I am not very mobile. Overweight and out of shape. Arthritis and social anxiety. What a mess! Our conversations to help. THank you.

Some form of exercises can be done in sitting positions and will allow you to exercise all that is possible and give you something else to think about therefore adding a distraction. Please give it a try I know it helps as does talking to friends on Mylot.
