It's actually quiet here

It is actually very quiet in the house now and I am really surprised. Usually t.v.'s are blaring and I have to blare one of my to get over the sound of the others. There isn't a t.v. I can hear on, and I know the power is on as I am sitting here using the computer. It's very quiet and I am quite enjoying it to be honest.
I am hoping it stays that way but am afraid that they'll turn the t.v.'s back on soon. I am tempted to turn one on myself but don't want others in the house to follow suit.
When was the last time it was quiet in your house?

Last night. I enjoy the peace and quiet after everyone has gone to bed. I have been this way for may years. Have to have all the kids in bed and asleep before I can relax and enjoy alittle time to myself. During the day I like to hear their noise and know they are here.

I have always preferred the quiet, it's just much more enjoyable. Even whilst at work if a loud moment comes up I try to make it go by as fast as possible by getting my customers out the door faster. I can tolerate it, but work much better in quiet, or my own created noise.

hello..nice for you to enjoy a quiet moment at home.I wish I can enjoy that kind of moment too....because it was never quiet at home..Like the TV ,my daughter & little nephew talks a lot..I guess the only time that our home is quiet is when I am in front of my computer & everyone is sleeping...

That is no fun. I know I can't stand for there to be constant noise, I like the very quiet of the night or when in odd moments it's quiet here. I crave for it to be honest.

It is often quiet at my house. I am just not one to have to have some noise all the time. I know how precious quiet time is to you, so I hope you made the best of it. I do have a radio on that plays nature sounds. I play the ocean almost constantly. Outside we are often loudly serenaded by various birds.

AS far as completely quiet? Well...I don't remember the last time..lol...at least not in the evening. I usually get up very very early and that is my quiet time. On the weekends that I don't have to work is when I really get to enjoy the quiet of the mornings.

I took off from work early today. It was early when I got home, and the kids were still in school. The house was quiet.
I sat on the couch, and I hesitated on opening the TV too. The sun was shining through the window and I thought of dozing off. I tried but I couldn't.
Then it was time to pick up the kids. At least I had a quiet moment.

Oh I have that here too----alot----and I know exactly what you mean. I hate the TV being on all of the time, or for hours on end with little time in between to do anything else. I have a few relatives that do that in here. It drives me crazy sometimes. I think it was fairly quiet earlier even with the TV on for a short time as I actually took a short nap! That almost never happens but I haven't been feeling well and have lost alot of sleep so it was a refreshing nap even if it was only less than a half hour. It is so nice to have some quiet. Tomorrow I will have alot of quietness as I will be the only one here for at least a few hours. I kind of want that, but kind of don't too cause I'm alittle anxious about some of my health problems right now and don't want to be totally along for long periods.
