well i got to see the little darling baby that we have all been waiting for. she was a little girl and she was born quick about 5 days prior to her due date and she has the most perfect skin and she is a good baby all around not fussy or anything i was so happy she had her.. a young couple they live across from my duplex and we talk often.. and her family lives next door to me as well so were all one big family, i was glad she had no complications at all.. i have a terrible time with both my child births, my oldest and first only weighed 4 pounds.. she was so tiny we could hold her in our hand.. and to this day she is 21 and only weighs 98 pounds but nothing wrong with her just a picky eater.. my other one weighed 6 pounds she is doing well living with her dad.. i see her alot..

i don't quite understand why 6lbs is so small. it seems like if you don't have a 12 lb baby, then people's brows get raised. as long as the kid is healthy. that's all that matters.

No complications is a good thing. Six pounds isn't much. I am hearing of a lot of babies being nearly 10 pounds. I have one daughter and she was 7 pounds. Every pregnancy is different. My great grandson was 9 pounds. It is funny how different they are. Glad the baby is healthy.

When my little girl was born, she weighed 6lbs 15oz and I have to admit that she was the smallest baby that I'd ever seen. You see, my mother had three very big babies, I was the smallest of her children and I was still closer to ten pounds than I was to nine pounds. Five days early is really good as well because it is a full term baby so the risk of complications for their daughter is a lot less than it would have been if she would have been born earlier.

My kid weighed around 6 pounds too when he was born. But he has grown up to be a healthy teenager. He's taller than me now and he says he aspires to be a professional basketball player in the future. So I really do not know if there is a connection with having been born tiny and your physical condition when you mature later in life. There are possibly a thousand and one reasons why we turn out the way we look twenty years after we are born. But I think what is important in the end that regardless of how we look, we are loved by our family and close friends for just simply being ourselves, and that is cool!

5 to 8 pounds are common weight for a baby. It is said that the weight in the region is the best weight for a baby. Though big babies are usually more health, it is hard for their mother to give birth to them. Babies grows faster than adults, they will keep their weight 3 pounds a month in the following 3 months. Good luck to your neighbor!!!

Wow only 6 pounds! We have big babies in our family. Even my nephew born at 26 weeks of gestation was huge at 2 pounds 8 ounces (big when that early). Lightest baby was 7 pounds 11 ounces and she was two months early. The others where all in the 8 and a half range. Mine are the small babies (minus the early bird) all 5 where over 9 pounds one was 10!

hi Laken, I am a 6.2 baby and It's actually a normal weight for a newborn babies.there are those who were born 5 lbs below. As long as it's healthy and a bouncy one.Anyway Congrats to the new parents..and by the way...my daughter was 6.13 lbs when she was born and in the nursery where she was kept with the other babies more older than her,she is actually a lot bigger compared to them..so I know 6 lbs is pretty alright.

My son was born less than 6 pounds but he was the only baby in the hospital that day that was healthy with no complications and jaundice. I prayed for his health before giving birth and i tried my best to stay healthy while i was pregnant. Now he's already 8 and yeah he's a picky eater too.

6lbs a every good weight for a baby born 5 days early. Doctors love having babies over 4lbs these days. My first born she was only 4lbs 7oz born 5 weeks early so she was a preemie but was such a healthy baby still is even at 14 months. She only weights now like 17lbs but soon before her little brother/sister is here she'll be in her big girl seat and I'm hoping to not have this on early like my daughter but it was need it for her health to be born early. Well hopefully your neighbors little girl stays a none fussy baby. After my daughter was 2 weeks old she would cry all of the time probably because I was the only one around since my husband worked like crazy but this time there will be more of him in the evening and weekend and I won't be doing it all alone after my mom leaves town.
