True Blood's Fifth Season.

On August 11, 2011, HBO announced that True Blood would be renewed for a fifth season of 12 episodes, to premiere in summer 2012. Alan Ball signed a multi-year contract with HBO in July 2011, but only agreed to produce the show for the fifth season. After the season five finale, he'll leave his position as showrunner.
So if Alan Ball steps down from running the show do you think it could hurt the show? Do you have any idea who might take over? Are you a big fan or just like to watch it?

I read the news of the show having 12 episodes for season 5. Personally, I think Alan Ball stepping down is bad; however it will depend on how the story changes and who has the final say. We have seen shows continue on without any problems.
I am a fan and have viewed every season. I understand that Alan wants to move on to other projects and we must respect his decision to move on to other work.

Yes, we must respect his decision to move on. But, I certainly hope True Blood continues along the same lines as it has. I love vamp and this is the best on tv right now since Moonlight was cancelled. Sad one that was. I just hope having new blood in the works doesn't wreck the mood of the show.

True blood is really awesome vampire show. Everybody has enjoyed this hit show. I have enjoyed totally episode this tv show and continuously watching.

I agree with you Belten12, I am also an avid fan of this series since season 1, and can't wait for the next episode this season 5 :)
I just hope even though Allan Ball will leave the show, True Blood will continue and will still have that great quality. :)

I am a huge fan of True Blood. I never really liked vampire/wolves movies or series, but I have to say that this is the best one I have seen yet. I certainly hope that Alan Ball's stepping down does not affect the series. It is definitely worth watching and worth keeping as a series.

I've been a huge fan since the very first episode of True Blood. I couldn't quite believe it myself that I loved this show so much, but far-fetched and crazy or not I guess I'm just an old lady who is hot for vampires...lol!
This is the first I knew about Alan Ball's plan to leave after this coming season. I sure hope his exit doesn't affect the quality of the show but I don't really think it will, not as long as they hang onto the fantastic cast they have.

I am a fan of good vamp shows and movies. Hot for vamps to be sure. lol I hope him leaving doesn't affect the show too. A good cast does help.

I love True Blood. Many of my friends watch it but I never did so last year I watched every season to get current and then I have been a regular viewer through the current season.
I think Alan stepping down wouldn't really hurt the show. The story lines are pretty much set, I'm sure they map out future episodes in advance and there is such a loyal fan base already.

I did pretty much the same thing. Got HBO last year so I could see the episodes. Just can't enough and now the last episode is next Sumday and we will have to wait another year to see what happens. I hate that!!
