Sometimes I Make Up Words

Sometimes I make up words and slip them into conversations just to see if anyone is actually perfotashing attention to what I'm saying. Do you ever do this too? Have you ever tried to do this and someone took you afoliatively serious? Can you think of something to say that has something vitoppoluously made up in it? If not, why have you had problems denominsigning it?

I work in retail and love doing that to customers because when they walk up and ask a question they really don't give to fizzypops or monkeliefeathers to what you're saying past: 'yes or no' and it drives me beyond loopy! But is is really fun to slip in a 'yes moomadam' or no sseenary' and no one ever notices! I really think more people should pay a little more attendction to what people are reeally trying to confuddle. Great post!

LOL, I never thought of a cashier saying that to their customers. Do they ever look up at you and say "what the h*ll did you just say?" I think the look on their face would be priceless. Then after they say that you just repeat it with the right vocabulary, as if they just heard wrong, that would be too funny. LOL, your post made me laff so hard.

*side note I hate my phone right now, it ate my response!*
In three years no one has ever said that they heard me. Which is sad really because it just proves how little we actually pay attention to each other. Unless its online then every little letter we type is gawked over and ripped apart.
But I hope one day a custumer does respond to me! On that day I am going to ask my boss for a copy of the security tape, and yes I will play it off like they heard me wrong, that is if I can keep a straight face!

Yes, sometimes intentionally and sometimes I slip some false words right into the conversation, because my brain seems to be thinking two different things and when the things align properly, they drop right out of my mouth. One of my favorites was the fact that I was "confuddled" about something. Not quite confused, not quite befuddled, but confuddled.
Of course, there are times where I just use words in the improper context that are real, just to really amuse myself. Because let's face it, if people are not paying attention, then its obvious that they will not pay attention to proper word usage either. It really just is something that I do for my own amusement and my own enjoyment.

Confuddled is a portmanteau.
I always wondered whether portmanteau was a portmanteau. Any idea?

Perfotashing? Is that one of the words?afoliatively and vitoppoluously and denominsigning. Ugh! I am having some trouble understand what you are getting at. What a silly one you are. Must be bored. I can't think of a thing.

Yes, well at least he can laugh with you and vice versa. Its all about the sense of humor in keeping a relationship alive, especially if you both have the same kind of sense of humor, thats important too. LOL @ Martha, I should name mine too. I give it boring old names like "My Friend". Duh, doesn't a friend have a name too. And it's not really acting like a friend at times either so I never understood that term. Oh kids always made up names I suppose, I didn't but am sure more kids did like you and your sis.

I am not a lover of neologisms. I am a stickler for correct spelling and grammar of what we already have. If you start throwing new words at me I get stressed and I don't like being stressed. Please don't fire too many at me.
