You can't escape from the law

a crazy man from montreal, killed a Chinese student. He cut his body in pieces, and he put a video on the youtube. He thought he was slick. He ran away to France, then on to Germany. He was caught in an Internet cafe looking up what the world had to say about him. The worker recognized his face which has been published all over the world and called the police. He was arrested in Berlin and he is on his way back to Canada to stand trial. Ego got him arrested, but how stupid to think he could escape the law.

Wow that's gross. It is stupid for him to post it on youtube and then think he could escape. Especially once they knew what he looked like and who he was. I'm glad he got caught. I just wish the thought of getting caught would keep more people from doing stuff like that.

Hello winterose I have to say that 'stupid' is an understatement in regard to this idiot. He was an idiot to think that he could taunt the law and get away with it. Perhaps he could have gotten away with it had he not videotaped himself and posted it to the youtube. He was asking to be caught.

Ego gets them everytime. They either talk to someone about what they did or have to be involved in the process. I always wonder what makes people do these things. He will probably do life for this. His psychosis is such that he will be fantasizing another one soon. And life goes merrily on.

unfortunately, life is only 20 years in Canada and he is a young man, besides that he can get out as early as 10 years. If he is judged insane he goes to the mental facility for the criminally insane

There is a show called I Almost Got Away With it... Some of these people are on the run for years and then they get comfortable thinking they are in the clear and BAM they get busted!! No matter what the police will catch up with you. Maybe not today... maybe not tomorrow... but soon lol

I am glad there are still concerned citizens that will stand up and support the law. I also say that this speaks to the value of each person, students or older, Chinese or German. Crazy or not, I am glad he was caught.

... and they look so 'normal'. That makes it even scarier, I think; because judging from what they are capable of doing, they have to be psychotic...

they are not always psychotic, psychotic means they truly did not know what they were doing, I think this guy knew very well what he was doing.

yes that is what I said in the discussion he was caught in an internet cafe, arrested and now sent back to Canada. He definitely is sick, and now he has shipped feet to schools in B.C.

That must have been extra worrying for you, living so close to Montreal, wondering if a serial sicko was on the loose. Luckily (can I even say luckily?) it doesn't appear that he's a serial murderer, and left the area. But I think he wanted to get caught. He certainly didn't do much to keep out of the spotlight. A hand and a foot have been delivered to two schools in Vancouver today. It's too early to determine if they belonged to Justin Lin, but police haven't found his missing ones, nor his head yet. Wonder where that will turn up...

I live in Montreal, no I am not worried, he was one guy and he killed his Chinese neighbour which is awful, but there are 3 million people in Montreal, he certainly couldn't kill all of them. Yeah they got a hand and foot delivered to the schools I said that in my discussion. I am sure there are still body parts left to be received. It is so sick

Your profile says "Verdun"... The Vancouver hand and foot have been identified as his. The one that showed up in Montreal after that was made of rubber.

That is sick and very sad. I am glad he was caught, and that his ego got him. Luckily someone recognized him and called the authorities, he'll have a long time to think about what he has done.

I saw this all over the news the last while. Its scary when this sort of situation arises. Glad to hear they caught him and he is getting the punishment he deserves. You cant be in the right mind frame to kill someone, then fleee the country.

Personally people need to remember in life, "What Goes Around Comes Around," and "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You." So personally if you are the type who is always doing Bad things, especially when you continue and then share it with others what you have done, you will get caught. But to put it on Youtube, and then do a lot of traveling. Good thing this man was caught. To think what could have happened if not, is frightening.

yes he could have killed more people if he was not caught, he got caught looking up all that was written about him on the internet, he got off on that.

He was stupid to think that, but could not have been in his right mind to do the things he did. Some people, I just will never get.

well the courts will decide if he was insane or not, so we have a long time to wait yet to see what happens.

I'm glad they got the guy! These people who do these things almost always get caught because of either just carelessness or ego...usually both. These days with internet,DNA and surveillience cameras just about everywhere, it is nearly impossible to get away with anything anyway.

You would be surprised there are lots of cold cases where police just can't find the killer.

This guy is clearly insane. He killed someone just for the sake of taunting the police and the law. Good thing he is locked up now, otherwise he would have taken another few lives in his meaningless and bloody game with the police.

apparently he is still in Germany in prison, we don't know when he will be released to the Canadian authorities, so it will be a while yet.
6 Jun 12
I'm glad he was already in the custody of the policemen. But honestly, I couldn't blame him for thinking that he could escape the law since a lot of criminals nowadays are not in the jail. I mean the government has good intention of implementing the law but often the people in the authority become abusive of their power because of money.

he thought he could escape to another country but there was an international manhunt on for him.
