The Gooseberry is truly a wonderful fruit and I was first introduced to it by my Ayurvedic doctor and I've always enjoyed eating it because it's not only nutritious but it's also delicious as well. It's an incredibly strong antioxidant but I didn't know that it had all the health benefits that you listed as well. I too hope that more people will learn of all the health benefits of this fruit and also other natural things that can improve our health as well. I need to buy some more Gooseberry or Amla as it's called in India, it definitely makes you feel good. I do have some Chyawanprash which is a jelly made of Gooseberries as well as a bunch of other really beneficial herbs and spices. I would highly recommend it.

I am not sure if gooseberry is even available here on our place but one thing is for sure, I have not seen it yet. With all the good benefits one can have from those gooseberry, I think there is no reason to just ignore it and it should be more known for people. Specially for those with conditions that can be helped with it.

Wow! No wonder I was such a healthy kid. I used to eat those right off the shrub when I was growing up. They tasted very sweet when still warm from the morning sun. My little friends said "Ewwww, how can you eat that?" I did not know the gooseberry had all those health benefits; I just ate them because they tasted good and because it was free food since they grew wild in my neighborhood.

Gooseberries are delicious. My grandmother had a bush of them on her property. They were good to eat and great in pies and jams. Close to the currant for flavor and look. Being good to keep the urinary track clear must mean it has some of the same ingredients as the cranberry. Good stuff and tasty!
