Don't put your makeup brushes on a towel to dry after you've washed them. They can get mildewed. Put them on the edge of the counter or window sill to dry with brush out over the edge. And you want to wash them gently with mild soap. I thought this was something you might appreciate knowing if you didn't already.

I stand mine up in a brush holder that I used to use for paint brushes for crafts. The same rules apply there. It is important to buy good brushes and then treat them well to make them last.

Actually, you shouldn't let them dry horizontally. Experts say that if you do so, the water would go to the glue that pastes the bristles together. What you need to do is to keep the water out of the glue area, so when you wash with mild soap/shampoo is you just brush them over your palm (with a little bit of soap/shampoo) only enough for the brush to have a little bit of water and soap then circularly brushing them over your palm to get rid of the dirt.
Then you hang them to dry. I use a hanger with clips on them so that I can clip them vertically to hang to dry.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

The experts on Martha Stewart said this way of drying won't hurt them. Mild soap is best. Hanger idea is a good one. Thanks.

Hello celticeagle
These sound like useful tidbits of information.
I used to have a brush-drying kit that I used to dry all of my brushes after cleaning them. I really liked it as it allowed the brush to dry vertically, with the bristles pointed down so as to allow the cleaner to drip down.
