I am worried about my rabbit

One of my rabbits is very ill. Today I went to feed them and change their water like I usually do in the morning. One of the rabbits didn't touch the food at all and she almost couldn't walk. I was very worried and immediately called the vet. The vet thought that it sounded very serious and he told me to take my rabbit to the clinic right away. When I got to the clinic the vet examined my rabbit and he told me that my rabbit probably wouldn't recover They will keep her at the clinic for a couple of the days and they will see what they can do, but they are not optimistic. I hope for the best, but I am afraid that she won't recover. They will call me this afternoon and tell me how the my rabbit is doing. Has your rabbit ever been ill?

I remember when I'm still young my parents are breeding rabbits and we have maybe 10 rabbits then. When there is sudden plague happens to the rabbits, that is very sad when we saw our rabbits having sick and dying. Since then my parents stop breeding rabbits anymore.

That is a lot of rabbits that you and your parents had. It is very sad when rabbits get ill and die. I love my pets, but I am always afraid that one of them will get ill. Unfortunately that happened today. I got a shock when I saw her this morning, she looked very ill and I immediately took her to the vet. The vet couldn't cure her and I left her at the clinic and asked them to call me if there were any changes. Unfortunately they had to put her to sleep, because she was suffering a lot. That is very sad, but I don't want her to suffer and I new that she wouldn't recover so I think that it was the right decision.

I'm really sad to know what had happened to her, I just hope the vet can do something to make her recover. Yes, most of us who have pets is also affected if ever they get sicked. Pets are considered to be a part of most families so it's normal for us to be upset if ever they are sicked or not feeling well. I have never have a rabbit before.

Do you mean the vet haven't found out what really is the cause of her weakness. I'm sorry for the lost but at least you have done your part to seek help. I appreciated also what your vet had did to ease her suffering.

I never had a rabbit as a pet but hearing your news makes me sad. One of the things that I really dread is having my pet getting sick. It's a good thing that you had your rabbit checked at the clinic. Be optimistic. Maybe, your rabbit just caught an infection or ate something it should be eating. I bet the people at the clinic will fix it and soon will be all good. Best of luck.

Unfortunately she didn't recover I talked to the vet on the phone and she told me that they had discovered that my rabbit had encephalitis and that they couldn't cure that. She was suffering and the vet recommended that we put her to sleep. My husband and I discussed it and it was a very difficult decision to make, but we didn't want her to suffer anymore and we decided to listen to the vet's advice and ask her to put the rabbit to sleep Now we are going to keep a close eye on the other rabbits, I really hope that the other rabits aren't to get ill as well.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I've never had a pet rabbit but I have 3 cats and I can relate. We get so attatched to our pets. It's hard when they get sick because they can't really tell us what's wrong.

Aww, it is so sad when your rabbit probably wouldn't recover. I am sorry to hear that. You did all what you can for your rabbit already. God bless her!!! I haven't cared a rabbit yet but long time ago, my dad did care 5 rabbits and they didn't get sick. We have a garden and then they run in there...

I never had a rabbit but this is very sad.. Did the clinic found out what caused this illness? Be careful with your other rabbits as well because it could be something contageous. I hope your little rabbit will recover and live, how old is it?

The vet said that she wasn't completely sure what kind of illness it was. She said that it looked unusual and different from other illnesses that she had seen. She asked another vet for advice and he wasn't sure either. They are going to watch her the next couple of days and try different kinds of treatments. I really hope that it isn't something contageous and that the other rabbits will get ill as well. We have 6 rabbits and they live in 3 different cages, but I am worried about the rabbit that share her cage with the rabbit that is ill. I will keep an eye on her and hopefully she will be okay. Our rabbits are four years old. One of them has been ill in the past, but she recovered.

They must be very cute! Pet illnesses are hard to define, lets hope that your rabbit is strong enough and it will fight the illness. I hope it will get better soon.

I've never had a rabbit become sick and I couldn't imagine either. How old is the rabbit? They weren't eating or drinking? Maybe they were dehydrated especially in this heat. I do hope she recovers and everything turns out for the better.

My bunny is also ill as she is having mites but my bunny will be fine as the vet has told me.... I would also hope that your bunny lives more longer and gets healthy again... and also take care of your other rabbits....:)
