No Responses!!!

hi friends Do you ever click 'non responses'tab here at mylot. When people posts whats in their mind, they expect us to respond to their posts. But for some reason, some discussions posted by people, newbies in particular,do not get the number of responses it deserved.Somehow it doesn't get noticed..(lesser no of friends, less popularity etc) First I thought those questions must be really silly,(for not getting even single response). But I was wrong, there are a lot of posts that needs to be responded to,under no response category.I have seen sillier but 'easier to answer' questions getting over 100 responses. So friends as members its our duty(optional) to check,if all the members get enough attention.Otherwise they will lose their mind and may quit mylotting...think of this as a charity 'Charity begins at mylot'

I make it a point to respond to at least one discussion from the no response category. Some of them are good but somehow got overlooked because of the volume and numbers probably ! ...It baffles me to see some outright stupid discussions getting 50 or 60 responses...But again this is something I have noticed elsewhere on other discussion sites too..

kiran what looks stu pid to you might not look stupid to o thers as I get a lot of responses and I do not think my discussions are stu pid. be carefu l how you sling that word arou nd. as for the no respo nses some have good reason. a lot of those have broken at least one guideline do not. anyone respomdiong will not make a penny as your response will be deleted along with the discussion. if people want us to respond they should make damned s ure they have not broken a guidelines do not.

Dear Hatley, I would never want to hurt anyone , and that's exactly what I meant when I said that I find some topics repetetive and studid but others obviously find it interesting and have something to add ! It is just a matter of personal taste and preference - have a nice day

I have read the guidelines,I will not respond to discussions that have violated the community guidelines. If I do it,it will be like supporting jail breakers.

In the past I have checked the "no responses" section but lately I do not have as much time, therefore I limit my time to my interests. I just checked now just to see what kind of posts were there today and couldn't find anything of interest. I guess, we all have different reasons for being here.

Mylot is very much voluntary. I stated in an earlieer response that it only adds to your participation when you respond, but some people don't for whatever reason. Whatever the discussion, it does seem a little strange if there is not at least one response. Mylot has changed since I got back on after five years. I guess it is so that people can respond and discuss moreso with people who are more likely to respond to them. In the meantime, happy mylotting, hope you get lots of reponses.

Newbie Salutes!! adforme Yes,I think there are small gangs or peer groups, here at mylot. Most people have3-10 very good friends, fans or followers(whatever just the same). They will answer to each and every questions that the person posts, comments on their responses.Newly joined peeps don't have this luxury,it will take them a while to figure this out. Niceday...

I have been away for a little while, but Im back now :D I always go through my homepage first and then answer as much as I can on the no response catergory. I hate the thought of people not getting a response, and I like being the first to respond lol, and like you say it is kinda like charity making sure people are getting the attention the deserve :) and you can make new friends along the way!!

They really are but they get pushed to the bottom so quickly! I dont think I have answered a question that has loads of responses. I have done when its had around 20-30 but nwever got a response :(

angelsmummy! Some discussions lying there are a 100 times better than those silly questions that amasses 100 responses.I never answer to such a question that gets so many responses.Think about the author, will he be able to read all these...whats the point, for posting our responses there. If it is not close to the top,no one will read your comment either..it will be a waste. Our thoughts are identical,at least, in this case..thank you very much.

garavegeta: Your starting this discussion had made me aware of "no responses" button on top. I was not giving importance for button given at the top. that led me to a discussion on surgery and unlucky friday. even if there is no response the discussion will continue to be there and somebody will post after a lapse of even a month or so. good day.

But it happens!!I was seeing them all this time, but never realized that they were also buttons.I thought they were some inscription.I found that out just yesterday. We people don't have any sense of our surroundings, when we are so 'into' it

Hi,Ryanong All of my posts got at least 3-5 response, even though some of them were silly and full of grammatical errors.I thank you all. To get responses we should find new topics that concerns everyone.Should be a little tricky and thought provoking.Ryanong usually gets more that 10 responses, am I right Ryanong?

This reminds me of a discussion of very long time ago here in mylot where the topic was about responding to discussions found in the "no responses" tab. Well, it went viral that time as far as I could remember because we all did., so every time there was a new post, there was somebody sure to respond to it. I have not been doing this lately but I do visit that tab time to time especially when I am done with looking for interesting discussions in "my interests" and "friends started" tab. Now that you mentioned it though, I probably would be visiting it more.

Choybel hi Good to hear that you are paying attention to that category as well. Actually its better If we try to answer those kinda questions more frequently, first of all, there is a greater chance for our response to be picked as the best. Secondly, that person is sure to become our good friend and strong supporter, and he/she might answer our questions((will try at least).

I look at the non responses quite often as i think their are of plenty of interesting discussions in this section and it allows me to go back a long way looking for interesting discussions without the risk of posting on a discussion i have posted on before.I also do it because it is anice thing to do,i think that if somebody has gone to the trouble of starting a thoughtful discussion they should at least one response.I dont want people to leave my lot because they feel ignored.I think it would be nice if everytime a my lot user is online they answer one discussion from the no responses section then everyone will feel part of a community.

anklesmash go read the guidelines dos and do nots of making discussions then come read the no response discussion,. a lot of them have broke my lot dos and donts and those of us who did stop and read the guidelines can spot a lot of rules broken in these discussions. some of us need our earnings so do not want to throw away money on a rule breaking discussion.if you respond to a rule breaking discussion you lose your response and your earnings too.

I won't worry about it that much. It is up to other people whether they interest in my posting or discussions. In many occasions, my discussions didn't receive any responses at all, and I just keep on posting, and trying my best in hope someone, at least one person would response it. We all doing our best here, and we hope that we can create a better community online.

Absolutely!KP What I learned from you,is that you are a person with strong determination. You can't be deterred by minor setbacks.Thats why you are at 7128.But most people are not like that. They analysis any forum with the responses that they are getting for the first couple of posts. Some people here are not even 18,so they will think bad if we... But as you have said its up to the person,to decide whether he should be posting or not. happy mylotting..

One point to note, the first page is probably much the same as the "new" section and people simply haven't had time to respond. But if you go several pages inside, you will understand why many have not received any response. Many users do visit this regularly but don't go very deep!

I,for one, never do so.In fact,I prefer responding to discussions that have received no responses or less than the deserved number of responses. The first thing that comes to my mind is receiving no responses may discourage the initiator of the discussion.I keep myself in his or her place and feel their disappointment. If you search, you may find many discussions that are responded to perhaps only by me.Recently I started a discussion and it has received only a couple of responses after as many days.

Of course, they won't kill themselves, but certainly would feel a little disappointed. And do you know what I feel when any of my discussion does not attract expected number of responses?I feel as if I am crying at a lonely place and nobody is paying heed to me.Ignored.

Love your point! One thing is for sure, in order for mylot to continue to be successful, we have to support all involved. I am new here myself and I don't want to leave anytime soon, but with less responses, how are we to succeed? Asking the right questions is key, but at the same time, the one posting the question may think it is the right question! Thank you for sharing this thought!

I will support as many people I can.I think we should avoid answering silly 'time pass' questions, and concentrate on topics that really concerns us."I think"its better to post questions only after reaching 200 fame points.Otherwise points will decrease(mine decreased 3 each for every post,I had posted before reaching 200).Plz correct me If I am wrong(I skipped FAQs).

Gara !! Good to see that you are very much concerned about mylot, its users, and specially those who are not getting attention they deserve. I am new to mylot and will get to learn a lot from you. I visit " no responses" section occasionally. I do not remember whether I have replied to any discussion or not. But I am sure that section has not gone unnoticed. And I appreciate your effort (seeing the number of responses) in bringing that section under light. I would also like to know from you, which discussion from that section did you like so much that forced you to start a discussion on this itself. I do not know after how much time does a discussion get dumped into that section. But one of my blogs too, unnoticed by every user for about 20 days got replies suddenly. I think you are the right person to thank to. Really good work. Keep it up.

hi garavegeta look there is a good reason why us older mylotters do not respond to no response discussions. read the guidelines then come read a lot of the no response discussions. if you respond to them that have broken a guideline rule you will lose your response and earnings along with the discussion being deleted.I seldom find one there that has not broken some mylot rule., people are stupid when they refuse to read the dos and donts of making discussions on my lot then b.i.t.ch. about losing their discussions, it only takes a short time to read that my lot information,.If I can find one that does not break a guideline rule I will respond if it interests me.but if it does not I go elsewhere.

Hi Hatley I got your point.I am going to read the guidelines once again. .. I am an offender too.One of my discussion got deleted too.But about 20-25 had responded to it,before it got deleted. So we can't really say that no responses = broken guidelines Can We?. And if it is there for hours still haven't been deleted,is it safe to answer them?! Your are the senior most mylotter, thats why I am asking, you

Honestly, the vast majority of the discussions that I respond to are discussions that my friends have started. However, there are times that I've pretty much caught up with the discussions that my friends have started and in those situations, I used to look for the top discussions of the day. Right now, though that tab isn't really working right so I have been looking more at the discussions that are recent or those that don't have any responses.

When I was new here, I did checked out the 'no response' section. But, most of them are out of my league, I don't know if I can answer them correctly. And some people do need answers ASAP. The funny thing, most questions needing responses are posted ages ago. I mean, could these people would still want responses? I bet they have figured their own solutions already :)
• Philippines
19 Jul 12
'Out of my league' means I am not to answer lol... Sorry, I was not being literal as if I belong to a baseball team. For example, someone asks a question about an ailment. I mean, I am just a simple person not a doctor, so only a doctor should give this person an answer. You see, when I respond to someone with matters concerning factual issues, I answer honestly and everything I know. If I can't help him with any good answer, I'll simply not respond :)

Lol,sometimes I answer questions on topics, that i have never even heard of.I don't know what the person will think of me,after my reading my comment. It has really affected my reputation.I guess I shouldn't respond to questions that are 'out of my league'from now on. Thank you phoenix

Hello pheonix35 what did you mean by 'out of league'.Tough to answer or too easy?In Which league are you in ?phoenix.I am in easy league,I don't understand 'quality' questions,as its language can be too tough for me to understand, let alone answering. .So I go for easier questions. But I don't take silly questions. What do you say?

Do we have to settle to respond to discussions that we aren't really interested into? If responding to such discussions will be the duty of myLotters, would you enjoy being a mylotter? The thing is, more users will definitely not enjoy getting the burden of trying to fill in no response discussions. So really, if there are no responses on a certain discussion, there must be something wrong with the discussion. People come around and stay in here because they enjoy responding to discussions. That is the main point, so if they are not enjoying anymore in responding to discussions, chances are they will not stay. So equivalently, if they are force to respond to no response discussions, which are high risk of non enjoyable discussions, then why do they have to stay.

Agent Gulaman. Right you are!.Most of them are whacky, thats why they end up in no responses section. Its not our obligation to dig them. Some may have broken guidelines,we should be careful and picky if we want to have to answer those questions.
