Why not believe in easy things?

Recently I went to a government office for some documents. I had an impression that entering into a government office and getting your task done is not much different from a war and this was equally supported by my earlier experiences. But this time, to my surprise, my work was given so much importance by the officials and I was treated well too. I was wondering why I got surprised. Its my right to get my work done as quickly as possible. I pondered over it and felt we, humans, sometimes get so used to getting disappointed that sudden happiness surprises us more. If you are told you are being given a sum of 100 USD, just for nothing, I feel before getting happy, some of us may give a suspicious look. Wonder why?? Why do not we believe in favors? Why do we feel that if something good is happening to us, a investigator inside us needs to get into play? I hope I am making myself clear. I want your views on this. I feel this must have happened to each of you. Happy mylotting

Do you mean you had a very different experience in transacting with government offices this time compare with your previous visits? That is because of the strict implementation of the government of the Anti-Red tape Act. Being a citizen, you are but entitled to the best services our government can offer. Don't be surprised, you just deserve it as well as the other citizen of the country. In our office, we are tasked to monitor and assess the services being given by the local government units. We are currently conducting an evaluation.

Well, I was just sharing my experience. What point I wanted to make was, if we are provided a sudden good service, a sudden favor, at some point of time we tend to be surprised within ourselves. If you are asked for your bank account number, and promised to get 100 bugs transferred, I do not think you would prefer giving it to him thinking him as fraud. While the truth is, he may or MAY NOT BE A FRAUD? The only thing is we do not believe in easy things,or atleast we get a bit astonished. Isn't it true?

I think that in this day and age it is very important to check into such things. I would check into the company or person that was awarding this money to me. And I would check to see how much I owed in taxes on this amount. It is important now days to check into things. If this was an award from work it might be alittle different but still important to check on the taxes.

second time gautam when we are kids we seem so inocent and do not question as its all good.we assume this is what is right but we lose that innocence when we grow up as we get used to having some knocks there and there. we now assume nothing but are leary of anything good as though its too good to be true. and sometimes we have to poke and prod before we accept it as really good. We have come to expect its too good to be true so when it is true we are really happy and surprised,.
