I have lost 9 kg in the last couple of months and the thing that worked for me was a combination of the right food and more exercise. I used to eat a lot of candy and cakes and I wasn't able to quit those things completely, but I cut back on them, and I started eating candy once a week instead of several times a week. I also ate a lot of vegetables and sometimes I only had vegetables for dinner. In the winter months I play badminton and in the summer months I often go for a walk in my town. I started walking much more than I did in the past and sometimes I walked instead of driving and I got a lot of extra exercise that way. If you want to lose weight I would recommend both things: Change your diet and get more exercise. I don't know what you eat now, but if you eat candy, cakes, chips etc quite often, try to cut back on those things. Try to find some ways to get more exercise. You could walk or ride your bike more often or you could join a sports club. Find something that you enjoy, that way it is much easier to get extra exercise. If one of your friends also wants to lose weight you can support eachother and exercise together.

I am in a similiar situation, I have gained a fair amount of weight the last month or so, ironically, i have been exercising more and it isn't muscle! But it is due to the fact that I have been doing all these 'work from home' projects and sitting more, so I have made myself do 'an hour on', 'an hour off'...during the hour off I either walk my dog, work out to my wii which i love doing the cardio boxing to, or do sometype of house hold chore..keep moving, i know it is depressing, when i saw my belly, I was horrified, my main problem was I didn't own a full length mirror for months until lately...now i'm more determined, and more depressed! Keep your head up, you are not alone ;)

The rules are pretty simple, but sticking to them and following them proves to be the hard part for most people. Eat healthy! Eat fruits and vegetables on every color of the rainbow, whole grains, lean meats, and drink lots of water. Avoid processed food, fast food, and sugary drinks. Spend a good portion of time (20-30 minutes) moving every day. Even if it's just a walk, it can go a long way. Get plenty of sleep at night. Keep a food diary and monitor your portions.

Being fat isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as you remain healthy, but ... The tried and true method and the healthiest is to simply exercise and eat healthy - fruits, veggies, things high in protein. The Beginner's Health and Fitness Guide (http://www.liamrosen.com/fitness.html) is a good reference point to start at; it encourages a combination of diet and exercise, both cardio and weightlifting, to build muscle over fat - remember that muscle can weigh quite a bit, so you won't necessarily lose weight, but you'll be building lean muscle. If you want to start running to use as part of an exercise routine, there's the Couch-to-5k plan: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml - basically brings you from being a couch potato into being able to run 5k in two months, but you can extend the program into whatever is most comfortable to you and your body. The best thing to do is to remember your own body's limits and use these as a general outline. Again, these won't necessarily cause weight loss, but at least you'll be cutting down on body fat and building muscle instead.

Well i can suggest you to either hit a gym or else start doing exercises at home. Try to avoid taking heavy meals and try having a balanced diet.

Drink lots of water. Eat 6 small meals in place of 3 big ones. MOVE MOVE MOVE! Remember you didn't put it on in a day and you won't take it off in a day ;)

Lol no water can not make you fat. Eater has 0 calories. Bread and biscuits on the other hand certainly can

Totally false what your friend just said! Water helps flush toxins out of your body. When toxins are out, your digestive system will function better. Besides, people who lose water weight cannot keep the weight off , they just tend to look puffy and dry rather than fit people who sweated through working out their weight off.

this may be a little extreme but you should keep a food binder and write down everything that goes in your mouth that is food. see if you can get a calorie counter book or a website that lists all the calories in any given food. this way you can see what you are eating and where the calories are coming from. also, exercise and drinking lots of water can help you lose weight.

Do not worry dear. Though taking tension helps you reduce weight but I do not feel it the most appropriate method. My favorite advise for you would be to take up a sport of your interest, one you are pretty good at in spite of going for jogging or morning walk. It will maintain your interest in the activity and you will lose weight without having much idea of it. Opt for a healthier diet. Go for 10-15 minutes yoga in the morning will also prove to be of real help. Good luck

This is very very hard question. I am just now losing weight for the first time in my life. I was never huge, but just chubby. It took a while to find what would work for me. basically, I am a vegan and only eat junk foods on the weekend. The rest of the week I am very strict with my diet. I also use the saran wrap trick, of putting saran wrap around your mid section to increase the heat. I do not know if it works for everyone, and PLEASE go to a website or doctor first before trying this or ANY weight loss tips, like www.webmd.com or something. But since using the saran wrap, I even have muscle definition on my upper arms, and that was always a trouble spot. You know, us 'round and circular' chicks are usually like that, round on mid riff and upper arms. So also try this, if a doctor approves: I drink apple cider vinegar to help weight loss. there is a good article on www.ehow.com, if you go there and do a search for apple cider vinegar and weight loss. plus drink lots of water.

Hello sweetie! This really depends on your genetics, do your family members have the same kind of body type? If its genetics then perhaps you might want to pay attention on eating. Please do not skip breakfast because the key here is to keep your metabolism going. So if you do skip breakfast then your body will not be able to digest the food as fast for lunch. Therefore , skipping breakfast is a big no-no. You should have smaller meals more often, just to keep you energized but more importantly to keep your body working, the metabolism to go on non-stop. Eat before you get hungry and stop before you get extremely full. From three large meals make it into 6 small meals. I've always taught counting calories was such a total waste of time so I just split my heavy lunch into two seperate meals. This is to train your body. This is good because even if you stop the smaller meals more often plan, your body will be used to metabolism rate, will keep on digesting and the weight will be kept off. Water is also important because dehydration will cause your body to how they say, water retention? And your face will look puffy from, so drink your fluids! Secondly, you might want to look at cardio. The treadmill or anything to do with running is a brilliant idea to lose them kg's. The key idea here is high intensity interval training(HIIT). When you run or jog, do 30 seconds at a really high speed, and then continue at your normal rate for a minute or two then repeat. Research shows that this HIIT ,for people who do this, they achieve better results even in a month compared to people who just go at the constant normal speeds all the time whilst jogging or running. Cut low on the cheese by the way because they have the tendency to sneak up on you! I love my cheese especially gouda- yum, but the thing with cheese is that, you wake up one day and bam! LOL. So here I am , on the other end of the boat, I am trying to gain back the weight that I loss , as I loss too much and this what I just told you was how I did it- HIIT and smaller meals more often. If you dont like running, you can try cycling. You may opt for 30 seconds of cycling really fast . 20kgs will not be a problem. Whatever you do it is important to be happy with yourself and love yourself no matter what. If this is for a healthier lifestyle then go for it. Though if you are already fit and healthy and still unhappy, then it is a body image issue. All the best riyauro !
