Best ideas for appetizers that appeal to kids AND grown-ups

I was thinking about nachos. Maybe a large plate of nacho chips then a separate plate with different bowls of sauces, salsa, cheese, etc. Then again, I'm not that creative. I wish somebody can give me an idea of appetizers which kids and adults would both love.

Buy some uncooked pizza dough, pour lots of grated cheese, cut it in sticks and bake. Serve warm. I have never seen yet a child who doesn`t like the grated cheese taste.

Cheese is always good. In fact, I can use some cheese right now. I want brie and camembert and some apples and grapes on the side. Yes, it's not exactly kid-friendly but it's just the way I like my cheese - eaten with fruits.

I love brie and camembert. And if you want to try something different (not much kid friendly) beat an egg, cover the cheese with the egg (using it as glue) and paste crushed nuts of your liking. Then to the oven until it´s warm. I serve it with thin baguette slices.

Nachos is a great idea. Or other chips and dips. Or quesadillas...just cut them into small triangles, perfect for dipping. I have done the "pigs in a blanket"...where you take a hot dog and cut it into four pieces and useing a biscuit (in a can kind) and smash out the biscuit, and then roll the dog piece up and bake till golden brown. Then have mustard and ketchup to dip them in. Or how about meatballs? Just make the bite size, and have something to dip them in and have a toothpick (large ones) to spear them instead of using fingers...

I will give you this, the nacho bar idea that you were talking about is something that probably would be a hit with everyone involved. Another thing that I find that everyone likes is pigs in a blanket as the other people have mentioned. What is fun about those is that you can serve a variety of sauces with them. Veggies and dip is really simple and is typically a hit with everyone. One last idea that I can suggest is popcorn chicken bites with a variety of dipping sauces.

I'm no expert but I can't think of anyone(adult or child) who doesn't love "Pigs in a Blanket". They are delicious. You simply cut up a hotdog(uncooked) into about 4 pieces, wrap them in biscuit dough, & bake them in the oven. As the biscuit dough bakes it rises & wraps itself around the hotdog. Just set out some Mustard & Ketchup for dipping & your good to go.

"Pigs in a Blanket" sounds yummy. I'm technically an adult but the hungry kid inside me approves of this idea. Anything with biscuit dough wrap is perfect for that little boy trapped in my body. I love honey mustard as well, so that doubles the pleasure.

inkyuboz I think you should take a can of biscuits and make pizza's out of them. you roll each one out put the sauce and topping on them and bake and there you have pizza.........

This nacho idea is one good one. Kids and adults both like fresh fruits. Is this for a party? For a graduation reception once I strung chunks of fruit on skewers and stood them up in a glass. Kids and adults like that or even cubed meats and cheeses or vegetables. I am not sure where you are, but one of the things a lot of people do here is take "little smokeys" or cocktail wieners and put a combination of barbecue sauce and grape or currant jelly in a crockpot or electric skillet on low with the weiners in it. They serve with a toothpick. Small meatballs work this way as well.
