I thought it and done it, but haven't submitted it yet..You are right about one thing, it is A LOT of work and I am barely halfway there, I heard marketing is a nightmare as well.
I suggest you go ahead and write down your story without worrying about spelling, grammar, or format and after you have to written down, then you can revise and edit as needed.

Most writers use an outline to determine their story line, while I originally wrote mine when going through some trials of life, so I wrote it emotionally, which is another reason I have to revise. This is my first book, so next time I might try an outline.

That is good advice. I am just not sure where I am taking certain parts of the story. May be a while.

An outline is mechanically efficient but if you have it all in your head you don't really need one.

Hi friend, good to hear that you are writing a book. All the best for your creating process. I published 3 of my ebooks, one is about solving paypal problems, second one is about tips to improve the business and the third one is about online earnings. Really it is cool to write a book and i enjoyed a lot while writing my ebook.

Yes I am too a sort of person who ponder over writing a book when thoughts travel my mind. I haven't written one nor do I think would I be able to write one in near future. It requires a loads of patience which I am pretty weak at. You also need huge courage to speak up your mind honestly. I like reading love stories. I sometimes express my feelings by writing it down on a piece of paper and then feel a bit less burdened. I love that feeling. I hope I will develop some patience and courage to hold a pen for writing my book. It will be my experience anyway so matter won't be an issue. Hopefully I will do.

Loads of patience? I think more along the lines of discipline and consistency. Keeping a journal of your feelings would help you later on when you do try to write. Hopefully you will do.

Writing a book is very hard work. I am currently working on a book. I am about half way through it. I am also writing two screenplays. I have actually finished them, but am working on my final rewrite. I plan to submit my first one the end of this month. If you're serious about writing a book the best thing to do is write your idea, then maybe a rough outline and just start writing. When I started my screenplay at first I didn't worry much about the grammar or misspelled words, I just wanted to get it down on paper and after I finished the rough draft I went back and started the edit and rewrite. The final product has changed dramatically from the rough draft.
In your idea with the woman of many powers, depending on the type of powers, I would create a fantasy novel and let my lady be a witch. I have actually considered working on a screenplay with a witch as main character. Good luck with your book. Everyone, I hope, will wish me good luck with my screenplay.

I have often thought of writing a children's book. I have written some children's poetry and other poetry. My sister writes for a newspaper and my brother writes business proposals. My father wrote speeches (politician). My mother also wrote poetry. I have heard that my poetry is good and I should try to put it in a book. I can't seem to write anymore, though. I wrote mostly during a time when I was extremely depressed. I don't think I write well enough. I would love to write a book but apparently not enough as I haven't really done anything about it. So I've turned my creativity elsewhere. But I do hope you write that book. The concept sounds great and wonderfully interesting.

Children's poetry would be nice. An entire family of writers. Sometimes being depressed gives you the insight to write. I haven't done much with mine either. Hard to finish it all up and send it away. Thanks.
