Why is it that sometimes a new discussion disappears...

...before I post it?
Does it happen to you?
Sometimes I remember to take a copy just in case, but it happens when I don't!
The discussion and subject vanishes and I get a message...
Unable to post content. Please use numbers and letters...something like that.
What am I doing wrong?
One time I tried again and again because I had a copy but it just wouldn't let me post it.

When I was just going to post on your topic (it happened again!)
Original comment:
Same thing happened to me when I was online using my mobile phone. And was so annoyed since it is kinda hard typing on your phone all over again (take note, I tried to do the typing of my post 4 times) and on the 5th try, I was so glad it was posted. *sigh* Then I went to sleep xD
Hope if this is really a glitch, it'll get fix sometime soon. Happy myLotting!

I see. Thank you for your help.
Maybe it has to do with certain words, I don't know.
I copied the text again and again and it would just disappear.

I think it's a glitch in the system. Many of us have had this problem. The reason that you can't copy and paste it is because you haven't been granted the ability to cut and paste discussions. What I used to do was paste it into another window, then if I lost it, I'd have a copy of it; before I was able to just cut and paste, I'd have to retype the entire discussion! But other times, I'll just recreate the discussion from memory, and sometimes it will turn out better than the first one! So you aren't doing anything wrong, it's a technical issue that I wish myLot would fix!

That's what I've had to do. My original reply was lost, with that silly message: Only use letters, numbers and standard punctuation. Well, of course I did, but that didn't stop it from getting sucked in the myLot Black Hole. Quite frustrating, but the next time, it worked.

Another window is the solution. I copy it piece by piece, for now.

It is one of Mylot's glitches. If you rewrite alot of times it will post. Not sure what it is that causes it. Just one more thing that makes Mylot so charming and unique. Besure you discussion is set up as a discussion and not a question and then re-post and it should be fine.

That is the best idea. Just have to work with it as best you can.

Hello Kostas499, I wanted to advice noted pad but since you haven't reach 500 post, i suggest that you should stick to responding to a lot of discussions until you reach. because it is likely for you to repeat that kind of problem unless you copy paste it in note pad and type it all over again what you just transferred in the notepad

If the subject is not interesting, there will be few people responding, otherwise if it goes against the sites rules and regulation, it may be discontinued. So always try to write topics that would create an interesting discussion. The topic should be easy to understand and of general importance.A region specified interest will have few contributors and it may not get enough support on the site.So let us contribute varied rich content to make an ongoing discussion.

It happens to me as well. I experienced it today when I wanted to post a comment to one of the responses on my discussion. Fortunately I had saved a copy of my comment so I was able to try again and the second time I managed to post it. I was happy that I was able to post it the second time, but sometimes it doesn't work, the second, the third or fourth time either and I simply can't past anything at all. I have started to keep a copy of my discussions, responses and comments every single time, but because it is so frustrating to lose the things and I written and have to start over. If I am completely able to post anything I keep the discussion as a word file and try at that later time.

I have no idea whatsoever! I have had that happen several times. When posting a response, as well. It always seems to happen on the discussions and the responses that take the longest for me to think of and write up, though, isn't that the truth? Out of habit, I now just push CTRL+A & CTRL+C to get a copy of it before I push submit, at least if it's a discussion or response that took me a long time to come up with. Because when I have to re-write everything, it never sounds as good the second time around! happy mylotting!

Yeah this happens to me sometimes too. I just have to remember to copy my text before hitting post just in case. I always try to do this with longer responses as it feels awful to lose a huge post that you have put a lot of thought into.

Sometimes it is useless. You may try to post it and each time it gets lost.

I also face this problem since 500 discussion now solved this problem but I dont know how. Copy is allowed after 500 post and emotions is allowed after 100 posts. I think not confirmed.

That is probable because the computer is having and error. Computers and the internet only work as good as the people that made them. So what no big deal you have to redo it all over again it just means you get to re say it in a different way each time.
