As some may know I cook a supper for the family once a week. This week it was tortilla soup. With anything I make, I mix it up. UNLESS it's barbecue chicken, that I don't mess with. In any case, this week I added more to it, not as much spice and didn't actually put tortilla's or sour cream in it.
It was delicious nonetheless. I saw a pumpkin pie and I had to get it, I also bought some lindt orange chocolate, and some turtles. Yeah, I kinda went a little over board.
I'm stuffed, and regretting eating so much as I'm trying to watch my weight. I still enjoyed it and my family loved it. There's enough left for maybe one, two bowls of soup.
I don't like sharing a lot of my food, but I do try to cook once a week because otherwise we eat out. If we had the room, and if I could pay for more food I would, as is I'm trying to get out of this place.
What did you eat for supper today? Do you cook for more then just yourself? How do you portion control?

Unfortunately, I do not portion control. Hubby and I both cook for the two of us plus my adult son most of the time. I have read in more than one place that it is good to occasionally eat on the heavier side, then your body does not think you are starving and shut your metabolism down. We still eat out more often than I want to, but not nearly so much as we used to.

One of my biggest bad habits is to to go to Sheetz which is a gas station but they have good food, I usually go twice a week on the nights I work. It's so easy to just get something there.
There just clearly isn't enough room in the fridge, and I hate to say it but I am the one who brings home actual food, other family just brings home snacks and it takes up the fridge the most.

I am married and has 4 kids. So, I practically cook everyday. I try to eat just a single serving each meal. Coz I don't want to be fat and also I am afraid of getting sick.

When I was married I cooked a little bit. We lived with his family for all but maybe three or was it six months? I really forget which. Then It was easy stuff as he was and probably still is a picky eater.
I come from a family of cooks, and I love it. I try to cook healthier stuff myself, and trying to watch my weight, buy healthier stuff. We don't have room here, a tiny fridge, so no real luck with getting healthy stuff all the time.
I couldn't imagine feeding four kids though, wow! Superwoman!

You soup sounds yummy. I just cook for myself but am lazy so I make a big batch of something early in the week and eat it all week long. Sometimes I freeze part of it for a later date.....but I don't like stopping what I am doing and cooking....And I really don't like to eat out alot.

I am glad to hear that you are trying to get out of there. Pumpkin pie does sound good. I can hardly wait for Thanksgiving. I have never had Tortilla Soup but have been surious about it. Glad you all enjoyed it. We eat out too much here. We went to have chinese tonight. We all like it so much. My daughter does the cooking and brings mine to me in my room. I have one plate full and rarely very big portions. That is my only portion control.
